12 ounce bottle into lager glass, no bottle dating. Pours lightly hazy golden straw color with a small dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of lemon, pear, cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with well balanced pale malt, earthy hops, and yeast ester notes; with solid strength. Taste of lemon, pear, cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Minimal earthy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, pear, cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Very nice balance and robustness of pale malt, earthy hops, and yeast ester flavors; with zero cloying flavors after the finish. Very clean. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, crisp, and slightly bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish as expected of 4.8%. Overall this is a very good pale lager. Good balance and robustness of pale malt, earthy hops, and yeast ester flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Pours a bright golden hue with a one-finger head into my glass.

Sweet with light floral notes.

Light, crisp and toasty. Just the right amount of hop character.

Finishes thin and sweet.

A decent take on the style. Won't knock your socks off.

12oz bottle poured into a pint

A- pours a pale straw color with a small foamy white head that reduces to a ring around the edge

S- smells of toasted malt, slightly sweet, hints of floral, pretty muted overall

T- slightly sweet toasted malt up front followed by traces of floral hops, mid-palate remains slightly sweet, the finish completely drops off, leaving just a hint of cracker-malt behind

M- light body with moderate carbonation leads to a slightly foamy mouthfeel and a crisp dry finish

O- pretty light and bland, a good substitute for macro lagers, but that's about it

12 oz. bottle. No freshness date.

Very clear, clean golden straw. Small, off-white head, with not much retention or lacing. Nose of honey, wheat bread, some cereal. Spicy, peppery, herbal hop aroma as well. Nice!

Toasted grains up front. Spicy, peppery herbal hop bitterness follows. Honeyed wheat bread, and faintly sweet cookie malt fill in. Nice balance, and good clean lager flavors throughout. Moderate body with a crisp, lively feel. Refreshing and well made.

Type: 16 oz on-tap
Glass: Pint
From: The Original Cottage Inn in Ann Arbor
Price: $4 a pint

I usually write out the characteristics for each aspect but this beer was just too bland. The smell was almost non-existant. The taste wasn't bad but it wasn't good, just bland. The mouthfeel and the appearance of it are probably the best parts, but they aren't overly special.

Sampled at a beer tasting at WCC. The beer is a cloudy straw color with a hoppy, grassy aroma. There is little malty sweetness in the taste, and it is bitter with little interesting hoppiness. Overall, this is not a favorite, but I may try it at the brewery.
