10/21/19, from a can released late September (~3 weeks old): 'Taste' rating upped from 4.25 to 4.5 for a touch more creaminess at the front of the palate, and some incense/onion/herbal hop tones further accentuating the back end. Balanced to the point of understatement, but enabling a level of universal approachability few NEIPAs reach (especially with a DDH treatment); this beer sits casually at the peak of the style, with few others as level or refined.

Came across this one purely by chance recently, and was pretty excited to dig in...

Bottled on 9/14/18

Pours an opaque and glossy golden peach with a finger of fluffy white head; solid retention and uniform lacing sticks around a good while.

Aromas of deep herbal grass, huge tangerine, orange, and citrus fruit, dank, green, piney, and spicy hops; vivid and bright; hints of creaminess form as the bouquet quiets.

Taste brings a detailed, prickly hop balance, intensely herbal/earthy but cut slightly by juicy citrus notes of mango, orange, and tangerine; a level burst of flavor is consistent and the thoroughly enjoyable profile holds an impressive balance of weight (considering it’s DDH treatment) that has it verging on sessionable.

Mouthfeel is pure silk on the palate, with leveled carbonation and a near-perfect medium body; goes down like nothing, with just slight residual hops on an earthy finish hanging around to remember it by.

Damn impressive in its drinkability and nuanced raw hop notes. Drains the Citra dry to find a beautiful medium between raw, intense, and juicy; superior example of balance in a NEIPA.

Easily one the the best DDH- IPAs Ive had.

Nose is very balanced, nice hop aroma with controlled bite. Appearance is perfectly opaque orange/yellow with continuous, thin white-line head.

Smooth feel, very drinkable and taste is consistent throughout.

This beer received alot of hype. Rarely my rating follows-suit with the hype. This is an exception. Very much worth seeking out. CHEERS.

Canned 11/14/18 and tasted ~1.5-2 weeks later.

A: Pours light orangish-pale with a smattering of bright white head. Completely opaque haze. Minimal lacing and below average retention.

S: Bright orange and tropical hops, a bit of white grapefruit.

T: Straight hop juice: mango, tangerine, a bit of dried flowers and hay. Finishes with medium-light bitterness and a touch of sweetness.

M: Medium-full bodied, fairly creamy, with medium carbonation.

O: A big and flavorful NE IPA that hits all the right citrus and tropical notes.

Beautiful beer. Pours a bright turbid straw yellow to orange. Thick bright white head on heavy pour. Nose is sherbet like. Orange peel and juice. Taste of citrus. Notes of orange, grapefruit peel, lemon zest and peaches. Honestly one dimensional as in I really only get those citrus notes. But they are huge! And delicious. Creamy silky body that’s easy on the tounge. Hoppy finish to close out this beer. Ya no kidding right? 8lbs per barrel so it better finish hoppy ;)

Fresh bottle poured into flute.

Pours like thick grapefruit juice. Clouded and opaque, yellow straw. Bubbly head is just off pure white. Settles into ring around the glass with some sticky lacing.

Aroma is big burst of juicy citrus. OJ, zest, grapefruit rind.

Flavor is also full of citrus with a ton of sweet orange followed by some grapefruit juice and some more tropical flavors. This is all backed by a big earthy, oily, resinous hop flavor.

Moderate carbonation and soft pillowy mouthfeel.

A great brew. The base is great and this pushes it to the limits.
