On tap at WET Bar (W Austin Hotel), served in a plastic beer cup; clear gold with large bubbles and a fleeting white head. Smells of light, bready malt and faint tree fruit. Light malty body, biscuit and crackers, light lemon and fruity yeastiness, faintly floral hops and a hint of bitterness. Light body and carbonation. Light and easy poolside drinker.

(from notes)

Pint on tap @ the Alamo Draft House.

Look- Pale to medium amber, no head by the time it showed up, but a ring of suds persists throughout. No lacing.

Smell- Mild, faint hint of apple, perhaps lime. Plenty of biscuity malt and a trace of alcohol.

Taste- Similar to the smell. Light crackerlike malt with the faintest hint of bittering. A little sweet, faint hint of lemon at the finish. More character than most American Lagers, adjunct or otherwise. Faint touches of helles-style balancing hop character. Not lip-smacking, but pretty good.

Mouthfeel- Clean, crisp, dryer finish than typical for the style. Very drinkable. I finished the pint and wished I had another.

Overall- Nice. Definitely more going on than the vast majority of American lagers, and surprisingly flavorful. I'm not generally one to snag a lager while out to dinner, but this one stands above the pack.
