Picked up a growler of this from Brickhouse in Vancouver, WA
appearance - copper, white head, some lacing
smell - citrus and grapefruit mixed with some malt sweetness
taste - huge hop profile, grapefruit, citrus and even some pine
mouthfeel - medium body, well carbonated, slick
drinkability - went through a growler in no time with a buddy, the hop flavor kept drenching the palate, really tasty beer!!

Some hockey fans out in the Seattle area I see.Poured into a standard pint glass a clear rich copper/bronze with a nicely defined one finger white head that left one good ring of lace as it settled pretty slowly.Alot of caramel and nutty malts in the nose wich is nice but in an IPA...not sure. There is a subtle piney note but it seems the malt profile is a little big.Somewhat sweet on the palate with caramel malts being really big, more nuttiness on top of that make the malt profile pretty damn good, the problem is the pine resin hop flavors are not quite as big as the malts.I like this beer but with such a big malt profile it's close to being a DIPA and the hops don't provide enough kick to overtake the malts.I do like this beer, it's just a little hop flavor deprived. The hop burps are better than the hop profile flavors.

I had it on tap at the brewery and had the dry hopped cask as well. This review is the first bottling.
From 22 oz bottle pour into a brandy snifter.
Looks beautiful. Dark bronze look. Nice head retention. Nice lace.
Smell is citrus citrus citrus.
Taste, a hop bomb. I like it while drinking it but it hangs around too long sucking out my taste buds long after drinking.
Smooth it out just a little and this would be a great beer.
Now, it needs a little tweaking in the recipe in my opinion.
Update 9/7/11 I'm upgrading my taste rating a notch. My basic impressions unchanged but the taste is very enjoyable. I think it's a very good beer overall and deserves better than a "b".

One Pint, 6 FL OZs Bottle…Poured into a Tulip glass...
A: Cloudy orange…Leaves behind some fluffy rings of lacing...
S: Marmalade, grapefruit, faint caramel, ripe pear, Orange citrus, lemon juice, light florals and grass...strong hops are present..
T: Refreshing...smooth, deep crispness, hop bitterness… Upfront there is grapefruit… lemon juice followed by leafy, dried grass, hops pulling in full force on the notes mid-palate. Finishes with pine and grassy floral…drying finishes…
M: Pretty heavily bodied, hoppy, crisp and bitter.
O: Very clean, Very drinkable. A great IPA to enjoy on your back porch on a nice sunny spring day...hey, in 'GREAT' Pac-NW, those are hard to come by!!...This is the type of beer that reminds me of the many 'yummy' ipas one would encounter at the Summer Brew Fest in Portland, OR(last weekend in July, eh?!...Oh, I hope I can make it!!)... Chasin' Cheers :~)

Poured into a becher pint glass.
The appearance was a semi-murky dark copper color with a finger's worth of white foamy head that slid off at a mild pace. Some lace followed here and there, somewhat stringy, yet messy.
The aroma had a fairly nice blend of sweet caramel/toffee malts, bready to biscuit-like qualities and a grapefruit pulpy to almost pureed sort of jamminess to it.
The flavor was mostly sweet running through the prior noted aromas fairly nice and structured. Mild aftertaste of the biscuit/bready notes along with the malts and a touch of the grapefruit sweetness.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt on par. Lingering bitterness with some harshness hits the texture appropriately like a West Coast styled IPA should. Expected harsh bitterness on the finish with that caramel/toffee malty smoothness.
Overall, as a West Coast styled IPA this is quite good when fresh. But please note: do not drink these aged, seriously. Thanks to all who understand.

Appearance. Pours a hazy, deep gold-amber with half a finger of white head.
Smell. Caramel malts, yellow grapefruit rinds, pine and cedar and some tropical fruits.
Taste. Caramel malts and resinous, citrusy hops, some pine sap and a little tropical fruits. Bitter citrus rind finish.
Mouthfeel. Medium+ body, medium-low carbonation.
Overall. Nice and big west coast ipa. I'll buy it again.

Appearance: (3.5)
- A murky amber yellow with big thick white head. Settles to a thin film which is spotty and lace about the glass. Certainly an unfiltered beer.
Smell: (4.0)
- Bready grainy malt, light caramel, and some good smelling hops. Little light citrus hop, zingy lemon zest.. little grassy and floral. Overall not bad.
Taste: (4.0)
- Solid hoppy brew. Big citrus hops, lovely earthy grains.. caramel, bready.. zesty bitter hops. Some of all the hop characteristics. Pine, citrus zest, and floral all packed into this brew. Tastes quite good.
Mouth Feel: (4.0)
- Somewhat of a light body.. easy to drink. Rather chewy as well and drying. Well carbonated. Almost seems a little too light.. but overall the chewiness takes hold.
Overall: (3.5)
- This is a very good tasting IPA. Big bitter hops, and wonderful hop flavors. It's odd though really.. the mouth feel doesn't seem to match the flavor etc. It certainly packs in the hops though and won't disappoint the hop heads out there like myself.
