Poured into a becher pint glass.
The appearance was a semi-murky dark copper color with a finger's worth of white foamy head that slid off at a mild pace. Some lace followed here and there, somewhat stringy, yet messy.
The aroma had a fairly nice blend of sweet caramel/toffee malts, bready to biscuit-like qualities and a grapefruit pulpy to almost pureed sort of jamminess to it.
The flavor was mostly sweet running through the prior noted aromas fairly nice and structured. Mild aftertaste of the biscuit/bready notes along with the malts and a touch of the grapefruit sweetness.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt on par. Lingering bitterness with some harshness hits the texture appropriately like a West Coast styled IPA should. Expected harsh bitterness on the finish with that caramel/toffee malty smoothness.
Overall, as a West Coast styled IPA this is quite good when fresh. But please note: do not drink these aged, seriously. Thanks to all who understand.

Pours copper-tinted amber with a thin creamy head that leaves lacing.

The smell is of citrus (grapefruit) and pine with some caramel.

The taste is of citrus/grapefruit and pine/resin. Caramel weaves in and out. Grapefruit and caramel in the finish, along with some alcohol warmth.

The feel is creamy - hits medium-bodied.

Overall, a nice interpretation of a traditional American IPA.

At Trace in Seattle. Decent, maltier than I prefer but still good.

Attractive dark amber brew with a fine-grained white foam in the Affligem chalice. Citrusy aroma. Plentiful carbonation and a sharp touch of acidity on the tongue. An orangey flavor with the bitter peel on the rampage.

Some malty sweetness. Robust flavor and a long bitter burn. This is a big-hop brew for the IPA fan. Lots of bitterness coming and going. The price is hard to complain about-- $3.54 for the 22 oz bottle at Haggens Market in Burlington.

A: Pours a hazy deep golden honey in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation and significant amounts of copper highlights. The beer has a three finger tall sudsy foamy light tan head that slowly reduces to a thick film covering the entire surface of the beer and a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Significant amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of caramel and bready malts with light to moderate aromas of pine and herbal hops.

T: Upfront there is a moderate to strong flavor of caramel and bready malts with a light to moderate amount of caramel/brown sugar sweetness. That is followed by moderate flavors of herbal/medicinal and pine hops which imparts a moderate amount of hoppy bitterness which lingers through the finish.

M: Slightly heavier than medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly watery in the finish.

O: An enjoyable IPA though a little more malt forward than I generally want mine to be - I like the hops flavors and aromas here but the malt provides a little more initial sweetness than I like. Not overly aggressive in the bitterness but definitely finishes with some bitterness.

22oz

Pours a brown copper body with a very nice 1 inch fluffy "surface of the moon" type head, good lacing

Smell is mainly an earthy malt , somewhat pronounced.

Taste is malt up front,a touch of hop, then back to the malt with a slightly bitter finish

Feel is full and even

Overall an interesting beer. More malt forward then most IPA's . But very tasty! (not to mention the 7.2 ABV) I would have this one again. Bet it tastes great on tap.
