On tap at the Tacoma Craft Brew Festival.

Yuck. This beer is way too strong for any meaningful sessions. Looks good, decent lacing, but from the first sip one feels as if he or she is drinking cologne. Choose it if you have to nurse a beer somewhere for an hour or longer.

The brewery lists this as an "Imperial Red", a style not available at this time here on BA.

Served in Imperial pint glass. Poured a deep red color, with some brownish undertones, with 1/2 inch of off-white head that had good retention and OK lacing.

The aroma was mostly good, basic malts, with the hop aspects being more even than crisp or sharp. On the tongue, the malts had the forefront, solid but not sweet, with a bit of a bitey hop finish.

The body was good, full and smooth, and had that hop bite at the back. Drinkability was nice, the beer was smooth and easily to quaff. Overall, a good, solid brew, that's a good take on the style (even if that style isn't recognized here). Certainly worth trying if you see it.
