I showed up on a rainy Monday. My first time here. Despite the proximity of a nearby college, it was surprisingly empty. The tap list was very impressive, 30 or so taps. Many more interesting options in bottles. The bartender was friendly, but preoccupied otherwise. No food offered but I'll be back next time I'm in the area

A Saturday afternoon after a day in the sun and 95*+ heat. I made my way to this Tap House in Edwardsville, for my first visit. Walked in and the place was busy with just a handful of patrons. I found a seat at the bar. The bartender was there for my order, I asked for a wheat beer.

The first choice was 4 Hands Contact High. Came to me by pint, which was ok, but I feel it could have been better in a Weizen Glass. Second choice of beer was Lost Coast Great White. Came to me by pint as well. Don't know if Weizen Glass would have improved the taste of the beer or not. Third choice, I went in the direction of an IPA and the choice was Lost Coast Indica IPA. I am a fan of the IPA and this has to be my top choice. The bartender commented, "This is a good light IPA after a hot Summer day." I had to agree.

The bartender was good at his job with the exception of the two wheats being poured in a pint. His knowledge and his likes for a good beer was there.

The only draw back is there is no food. This won't stop me from visiting in the future.

Established outpost of this chain. On the 2nd floor of a strip mall, usually far less corwded than you'd anticipate. Easily the best tap selection in town with a decent bottle selection in the coolers as well. Discount on mixed 6 packs to go.

No food, but they encourage food from outside. Staff is friendly though later in the evening when there's 2-3 of you in the place with more than an hour to go before closing they have a habit of mopping the floors and putting up the tables ruining the atmosphere and leaving a strong smell of the floor disinfectant hanging over your beers.

This place is a beer lovers dream. 50 on tap and over 200 in the bottle. I have found plenty of new favorites in the few months since I started coming here. The prices can get a bit high from a college student's perspective but they are fair. This is my go to place for evening of relaxing with friends and talking about beer.

One of their great features is beer shots. It's a 4oz sample of anything they have on tap. They also have signature shots which are a mix of 2-3 beers that make a great new concoction. I'm a big fan of both the Red Dragon and Hi-C. Another feature I appreciate is the use of proper glassware depending on the beer, which makes sure that you enjoy it as it was meant to be.

New to the east side, and a welcome addition. Beer selection is decent, don't expect great things. Although, they do get some special releases that most others won't get. A TON of draft and bottles, just don't expect hard to get beers on a regular basis. Crowd is definitely new to beer, which is probably a good thing. Just don't expect to spark up conversation with the person next to you about beer.

The beers are poured according to Ratebeer's recommended glassware. Which is nice, unless you are paying $10 for a pint of beer. I am a believer that beer shouldn't be priced above $9, if you get in that range make a smaller pour.

There is no food, but carry-in is welcome. I am way okay with that. Do what you know.

Atmosphere is great. Bar is a little high, but that is just nitpicking. Bartenders are fair to well knowledged. The clientele takes it down a notch for me. One of the times I took my wife in with me some meathead was yelling about how he just jumped out of his truck and "whooped some ass". Yee-Haw!

Bottle pricing can be pricey. I paid 20 dollars for carry out Blushing Monk. Expect similar on all bottles available. I was told a discount couldn't be applied under 3 bottles for carryout, weird.

I've been to Global Brew several times now and my experience has always been great. The first time I went it was a Friday evening and the place was slammed. Nevertheless, I found a spot to sit and enjoyed several beers with quick response from the staff. I've visited a few times mid day as well and it's quiet since not many people are in the bar. This IMO is the perfect time to come here if you like to drink and ponder. All the beer was fresh and the selection was quite large for this area. Normally you would have to head into St Louis for a selection this big around here. They don't serve food here and I'm not upset about that. Overall it's reasonably priced beer, the selection is constantly changing and the bar itself is fantastic. It's hard to be upset when drinking here.

On a side note, I've said it more than once that I hate the owners but only because they beat me to my dreams. Best of luck!

I've been to this location several times now and am always eager to go back. Finally, a location in the metro east with a huge craft and import selection! 50 taps, 200 bottles, and a decent location in downtown Edwardsville.

No food, but I've brought my wife here twice and we order from the takeout/delivery menus they have available. Not a huge selection there, but not the fault of the tap room. The first time we ordered the delivery was very prompt and the food good. No so much the second time, but, again, not the fault of the tap room. They kept the beverages flowing during both visits.

The have several beers available on nitro taps, and keep them all rotating. Appropriate glassware and a knowledgeable staff as well. I will be a regular.

There was quite a bit of talk about this place leading up to it's eventual opening so I was naturally excited to get a chance to go.I went in the midst of a freak March snowstorm on a Saturday evening. The place was hoppin but not overly packed with a pretty diverse cross section of the community.Beer geeks at the bar, middle aged yuppie groups and couples at the surrounding bar tables and your average, everyday bar patrons dispersed throughout.Staff was knowledgeable and attentive and beer selection was solid. Some tap standouts were Ommegang Abbey Ale,Southern Tier Gemini,Founders Dirty Bastard,Ayinger Celebrator,Unibroue Trois Pistoles,St.Bernardus ABT 12 and North Coast Old Rasputin.I mean honestly,50 taps of which 40 to 45 are real solid,is nothing to sneeze at.In bottles,I saw Hopslam($7) and Rochefort 8 and 10($11)but also He'brew Lenny's Bittersweet R.I.P.A,Southern Tier Unearthly and Mokah,Great Divide Yeti(All bombers)and 12 oz. bottles of Founders Nemesis,Devil Dancer,Backwoods Bastard,Bells Double Cream Stout,North Coast Brother Thelonious,Pranqster and Old Stock Ale.Overall,a shining example of what a beer bar can be.They had a keg of KBS there also but were waiting for a tap from another restaurant nearby.I think that is the only thing that would've made this trip better.

Been to this place twice already. Once on a Saturday night (which I highly discourage unless you want to wait 15-20 minutes for a drink) and again on a Friday afternoon. The selection is unparalleled, 50 drafts and 200 bottles of domestic crafts and imports. They offer beers from Founders, Sierra Nevada, New Belgium, Southern Tier, Goose Island and Big Sky just to name a few of the crafts. No BMC to be found. From what I understand the drafts rotate fairly often. They also offer boards where you can sample 5 individual 4 oz beers from one style or create your own.

When it's less busy the staff is very helpful in suggesting beers to try based on your taste. They are also highly knowledgable about the styles. Staff are friendly and make your visit an overall pleasant experience.

It's very clean inside, including the bathrooms. Not a lot of seating during the busy times so best to go at off times. My only complaint is that the bar is pretty high off the ground and I feel like a little kid sitting up at the bar.

Overall, it was a great experience and I will definitely be going back soon.

I think I was the second person through the door on the first day they opened. Located on the second floor of a shopping center above a sushi restaurant, you have to ride an elevator up to the bar (I never saw stairs). Simple but attractive decor, but who cares about decor when there's 50 beers on tap and another 200 in bottles. Beers on tap are listed on a chalk board you see when you walk in and above the tap handles is another chalkboard that points out owner's favorites, facts, or other notes on some some of the handles. Service was spectacular and the owners walked around around talking to everyone and were keen to hear people's thoughts and criticism. Price's were fair. I had a New Belgium Vrienden, Southern Tier Gemini, and North Coast Old Rasputin and my bill was around $16 if I remember correctly. Also worth noting they have a large selection of glassware so everything is poured into the appropriate glass. They do not have food but you are welcome to bring your own in and they might have delivery from local restaurants as well but I didn't ask. Overall it was what I expected but my expectations were high and they were met. I can't wait to go back.
