Thanks to Chris & Sharon for sharing their Portland bounty!
This was an early highlight of the evening. Quick review from written notes.
Served from 2 bottles that leaked a bit in transit, didn't seem to affect taste, only carbonation.

Dark coppery brown with a brief layer of tan foam, good clarity overall.

Aromas of cider vinegar, apple butter, grapes, leather, woody barrel. Moderately sour, cidery and lightly acetic, it finishes dry. Aftertaste of light cinnamon and tart crabapple. Lower carbonation (due to shipping) that didn't interfere at all really. Reminscent of Vin De Cereale or Jacobins Rouge, some of the finer sour Oud Bruins out there.

Bottle opened on 10.3.13.

A - Pours a hazy medium brown with a few large off-white bubbles that quickly move to the edges.

S - Fruity - floral, spices, sweet.

T - Tart oakiness dominates with hints of wild flowers, fruits and subtle spices.

D - Lower carbonation with a light body.

O - Tart with subtle floral and fruit flavors. Light and very nice drinking.

On tap at The Commons today. This is a sour ale aged in Pinot Noir barrels with Wyeast Roeselare blend and house grown cultures.

Pouring a dark red with a dense, off-white head with decent retention and lacing, this looks good. The nose is very vinous with a blend of fruit (berries) and sourness, one that's mostly lactic but does have a little acetic notes. Really bright and fruity, the blend of the wine and sourness is really nice here. The palate's similar. As with most beers from this brewery, the funk character is on the low side. There is, however, quite a bit of clean lactic sourness coupled with a blend of fruity berry acidity, some oak and vanilla. The fruit and vanilla do linger on the finish along with the oak. Very good.

Poured crisp and clean into a snifter with a dark orange hue. Crisp scents of citrus got my salivary glands firing and the taste was sour enough to let me know what it was but I didn't make a sour beer face. Definitely lingered in my mouth a little longer than I'd hoped, stripping the lining off my cheeks, but in a good way. Not too bad, not my favorite but I would entertain another on a hot day.

Thanks to GRG1313 for sharing this one at his tasting.

Pours a hazy orange-brown with a foamy beige head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is sour and tart with malt, fruit, and acidic aromas. Taste is much the same with sour fruit and grain flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of acidity on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer that is tasty and easy to drink.
