The commons is yet another awesome brewery to hit on the east side of the willamette. The cool thing about the commons is their tasting room, they just have some barrels setup around their brewing facility where people stand around the fermenters and enjoy some of the best Belgian style beers in the Northwest. They have a similar feel to Upright in my opinion, both are 2 really great Portland breweries. They have bottles for sale at the brewery which may be a tad cheaper than you can find them around town. Overall their prices are a bit high but like most Belgian style breweries this is the case. One of my favorite breweries on the east side of the river.

Some of the best farmhouse, saison, and fruity belgian styles in town. The fruit is always done with class and never overpowering. It's got the warehouse vibe and isn't a great place for a date, but you absolutely need to try their beer, especially when they collaborate to make a rare hoppy beer or a stout, it is fantastic.

Went here after Cascade for more "normal" beers. Enjoyed their Urban Farmhouse Ale very much, and my wife had their Pilsner. They had a nice cheese, nut, and chutney board which we all enjoyed. The one server asked our opinion which we gave freely and honestly. He was kind enough to give us more nuts - very nice! Great people and great beer! I brought a bomber of the Urban ale home.

this was one of my favorite brewery visits on our recent oregon trip, such an amazing space in an old corner building that i think was a furniture showroom or something. vaulted wooden ceilings with open rafters, exposed brick everywhere, a long bar, seating in big old windows all around the outside, some barrels as tables, a smaller brew house in the front and a lager capacity operation in the back. very well laid out, beautiful space, so comfortable to be there and chill out with some of their incredible beers. all of the beer was awesome, i mean really really good. they had a few session types on that were great, some bretty funky stuff, as well as a dark rye saison. my favorite of all though was the myrtle, what a sensational brew. seems like saisons and such are their game, but they had a whole range of them, definitely something for everyone here. service was friendly enough, but not real chatty for how quiet the place was. it was a really wonderful place to spend a few hours on a friday afternoon, taking it all in and enjoying some of the best beers in oregon. i am surprised these guys havent gotten more attention from the beer community outside of the northwest, all of their beers were inventive and dialed in. such a cool place to hang too. this might be my first stop when i return to portland. a must visit brewery if you are in the area!

Tasty vegetarian grilled cheese potato mushroom sandwich. The tasting room is sparse but welcoming. The beers were all amazing in their own right. I’d of course love to return.

Just down from Cascade, The Commons is a natural for sampling. They have a really good selection and all the beers are terrific. Lots of pride in this smaller brewery. The brewing area is easy to check out. They serve a cheese plate that compliments the beers well. The bartender explained all the beers very well when I asked about them.

We went based on a recommendation from a hair of thr dog bartender. No regrets but I wasn't wowed. Industrial bare bones feel. They had several saison which isn't a fair test since they're just average to me. Food was good. Had a great beer cheese dip. Cool that the tanks were open and visible from the seating area.

Neat place between Hair of the Dog and Cascade Barrelhouse. Mostly Belgian farmhouse style, fairly light in general. Newer building but guess they just moved here. new brick, rustic oldish wood beams, nice corner view with many windows. Tap room is in the middle of the brewery, the stainless setup on one side, barrels on the other, new plywood to portion off the bathrooms and bar. Bartender was busy but helpful and knowledgeable, the one thing he didn't know he went and asked for me. 8 of their beers on tap, 2 guest beers, a few bottles to purchase. Neat places, def check it out if you're in the area. Decent prices.
