A- Marleys is on Main St in Bloomsburg-so like any restaurant located in any other small town this is a long and narrow place that is part of a much larger strip-when you walk in is the bar area and then there is another strip that is the restaurant area to the right of the bar area divided by a wide passthrough where the host/hostess stand is. It decorated with dark wood and reminds me of so many other brewpubs that I've been too. I went with my fiance on a cold, windy november saturday night-and there weren't many folks out in town that night. This made the atmosphere in the brewpub quaint, warm, and personable.

Q and S- They have 8 or so of their own beers on tap here. I believe they have 4-5 standards and 4-5 seasonal/rotating/experimental taps. We tasted a sampler. When we were there they had their kolsch, irish red, english mild (all 3 of these were good for the style-but none of those are particularly exciting styles), their porter (good), their IPA (good), an Octoberfest (flippin' fantastic-we took a growler home), a Double IPA (I really really enjoyed this one), and a black IPA (good as well). All of their beers are very well made-but I guess 3 of the 5 standard beers are from ho-hum styles-BUT what do you expect from a brewpub in a college town that is trying to get people away from bud light an yuengling.

F- My fiance had a burger and they cooked it right-that is a feat in itself. We also had the pretzel sticks which were very, very good. Overall, their menu is good and has a nice variety of food with salads, wraps, burgers, pasta, steaks and other appetizers, snadwhiches and entrees. I think it would be pretty difficult to find something you didn't like here.

Service- Our server was pleasant, personable and patient. Her beer knowledge was mediocre- but there is a nice explanation of each beer on the table. My fiance and I really enjoyed our evening here and told the manager about it- since this is a new establishment they really appreciated the comments and criticizm.

We stopped here on a whim after visiting Troegs the day before and Selinsgrove earlier that day. My fiance was dissapointed with Selinsgrove and we were bored and found this place in the phonebook at our hotel in Danville. Definately a pleasant surprise.

Overall- a good and worthwhile stop. Its hard to compete with brewpubs like Selinsgrove and Bullfrog not too far away. This is more of a traditional brewpub that does really well at making staple styles- the brewmaster seems to like to experiment so you might be in for an additional pleasant surprise too!

Formerly a Bennigan's, the place was fairly spacious, with large bar and and dining room separated by glass partition. Z-shaped bar seats 16-20 people. 12 beers on tap, the two I tried were ok. Service was friendly, but with minimal beer knowledge. Had the chicken tenders...ok... reasonable price.

Stopped in here to grab some dinner. The vibe has a pretty standard sports feel to it. The beers are decent, nothing too special. The service is good. The food was pretty good too.

Stopped by Marley's at their new location ... Rte 11 about a mile from downtown Bloomsburg (old location). Great atmosphere and much more "elbow room" than the previous location. Great selection of craft beers including Pack Dog Peanut Butter Ale and a nitro driven Foggy Dog Expresso Porter. Stopped by on our way through for a growler and some appetizers. Lobster bisque, coconut shrimp and potato skins ... all excellent, tasty and well-presented. Service was great ... our waiter was well versed with craft beers. Reasonably priced. Worth a visit if you're in the neighborhood.

Finally, the wife and I found ourselves with the chance to stop at Marley's. We had one major concern though, we were traveling with our dog! That could have been a big factor in our ability to stop, because we would never want to leave the dog in the car for an extended period of time. I called up my friend from college, Andrea, and asked her about Marley's and also if she would want to meet us for a drink. She told me they have an outdoor patio that was dog friendly. I was very excited to hear that. We decided we would definitely stop this time around.

Seeing that it was an overcast, cool day, we decided to run inside quick and get a sampler and a quick bite to eat as we were waiting for our friend to Arrive. After our bite to eat, we ventured out to the patio and brought the dog to hang out on the patio with us and enjoyed catching up with Andrea, while sampling some of Marley's brews.

In this dog themed restaurant, the atmosphere was pretty low key but we were there on a random Thursday in the summer. I don't know where they came up with the dog theme, as their is no history on their webpage, but it is a pretty neat theme. I didn't expect it to be crowded and I was right. There were only a handful of people there. Despite having a full range menu, we ordered an appetizer and some salads. The appetizer was one that is always the wife and I's go to when it is on the menu, Coconut Shrimp! The coconut shrimp was good, but the real star of that plate was the Pineapple Coconut Pina Colada dipping sauce. Unreal! The rest of the food was good. We saw they had a brick oven for Pizza's but we decided we just didn't feel like a pizza. I am not sure if they do, but if they don't, they should use the spent grain from brewing for their pizza dough. That combined with a brick oven would be ridiculous!

Anyways, I ordered a sampler of 6 of their beers, as the wife is still pregnant and didn't have anything to drink. I wanted a large variety and went with the Cat Chaser IBA, Tire Chaser IPA, Kong Kolsch, Bitch in Wheat Hefeweizen, Guard Dog Porter and the Maple Irish Red on Nitro as my six samples. The beer that really caught my attention was their Peanut Butter Ale, but I opted for a full glass of that (review to follow). The thing that really put Marley's over the top, in my opinion, was the fact that we could sit out on their patio, eat and drink, all while our dog was out there with us. I really appreciated that, especially since we were traveling with our dog. I mean it is a Dog Themed Brewery after all.

We were very happy with our visit to Marley's and I hope to stop by again to check out some more of their beers as well as try one of their Brick Oven Pizza's. The only complaint I have about Marley's is that they weren't around when I was living in Bloomsburg, but I guess they can't be completely at fault with that.

Visited on a Saturday evening. Place was crowded.

Not a place I will be visiting again, considering the other brewpub options in this part of PA.

A - Your average clean, well lit place, but undistinquishable from any Chi-Chi's or Applebee's. I liked their previous location (downtown) and vide much, much better.

Q - No compliants.

S - Service was great. Our waitress was attentive. When we had an issue with the meal the manager arrived very quickly. Some simple questions about the beers on tap were met with reasaonable answers.

S - House beers were average to slightly above. They do have guest beers from local brewers (Stoudt's and Purple Healer when we visited).

F - Hit or miss. I ordered the prime rib special, which was horrible. I spoke to the manager who admitted that it was the last piece of the day. It was thick cardboard. The manager removed the item from the check, I politely turned down their offer for a replacement entre or a dessert.

As I was rolling through the area, I popped in for a pint. The place was closing at 5 for some kind of renovations, I think. The bartender seemed to have no problem serving me, even though it was about 4:50, or so. Nice looking place. Clean and mellow. Selection was fairly thorough. The one I had was okay. Not sure I'd go out of my way to stop here again, since it would be out of my being in Bloomsburg and all. But it was nice to check out.
