Imperial Three Blind Mice, once Mother's little brown beer, is now all grown up and running the show. Left to rest and age in bourbon barrels, this beer is rich and full bodied with chocolate, coffee and caramel malt flavors. It bestows a beautiful bourbon character and balanced finish on its loyal subjects. This is one regal brew fit for a king - out on the town or home in the castle.

Pours a brown that is just a shade off of black. Head formation is a finger in height, khaki in color, and retains fairly well. Good patches of lacing left behind. Aroma is bourbon with a little sugary caramel, toffee, and molasses behind. Biscuit, and roasted malts form a sturdy foundation. Flavor profile is sweet notes of caramel, toffee, and molasses mixed in with bitter notes of biscuit and roasted malts. Bourbon and oak are present throughout, giving it a flavor boost. Mouth feel is medium-thick with a velvety texture. Overall, a tasty bourbon barrel ale. It has a quality balance, all the while showing a variety of notes.

Helping to put Springfield, MO on the map for sure. This is another one of theirs that I think is underrated. Great taste and nose. Not as bold as some BB stouts, but sometimes I am not after something too heavy that still carries same BB characteristics. Easy to enjoy, sad when it's gone!

Brown with two fingers of light tan head.
Bourbon, vanilla, caramel, toffee and brown bread in the aroma.
The taste largely follows the nose, with the different elements smoothly blended. I generally prefer big imperial stouts and barleywines for bourbon barrel aging, but this "Imperial" base holds up just fine and definitely shows some brown ale malt character. Whatever bittering hops are in there help with balance, preventing it from being very sweet. The bready malts and slight bitterness linger with the vanilla bourbon and kiss of alcohol in the aftertaste.
Great, creamy body, with a touch of carbonation. Medium bodied.
This is a fantastic beer. Tastes like a BBA brown ale, not a stout.
