Pours pitch black. There's a minimal amount of head. What's there is brown that fades into a ring around the edge of the glass.
The nose has notes of coffee and chocolate on it. I also get a hint of vanilla.
Taste - first sip at 54 F - Chocolate, vanilla, and, of course, coffee. The coffee is on the backside, and it hits hard. The chocolate and vanilla are up front.
The body is quite good. The coffee feeling does linger in my throat, and feels good.
A great beer from Mother's Brewing. Really well put together all around.

Pours a black color. 1/2 inch head of a tan color. Good retention and slight lacing. Smells of a hint of roasted malt, alcohol, strong chocolate, plum, raisin, and sweet malt. Fits the style of an American Imperial Stout. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with an average carbonation level. There is also a noticeable bitterness. Tastes of strong sweet malt, chocolate, slight roasted malt, strong alcohol, slight raisin, and a hint of roasted malt. Overall, weak appearance, but good aroma and feel, but blend is a little to concentrated on alcohol.

Coffee in your face, a boozy, iced espresso stout. Dark and creamy goes down smooth with slight sweetness true to an imperial stout. Have had many coffee stouts and surprised at how good this is.

From a dark bottle, this brew is incredible....the appearance is utterly black with a tan head. The aroma is intense with coffee and chocolate. It smells amazingly delicious. The taste doesn't disappointing: dry with a firm bitterness and a creamy texture. Lots of roasted notes and coffee flavors. It hides the alcohol very well. Full body, and very satisfying.

Black in color and impenetrable to light. There's a fingernail of brown on top. The aroma is of dark roasted coffee. I'm tasting plenty of dark roasted coffee and some dark chocolate. The mouth is fairly oily, thick and viscous.

I've had some pretty great coffee stouts and surprisingly this one is up on my list. I think this and a couple other's from Mother's Brewing are underrated. Really easy to enjoy the flavor of this one. It's dark, smooth - like most are, but to me has a really nice balance of flavors. Sounds like they've figured out a good recipe using a mix of coffees.
If they barrel aged this it would be incredible.

this beer is crazy coffee driven! i like how up front and bold they were with it, and i even like the original grind quite a lot, but this really pushes it to the next level, seemingly as much beer as it is coffee, which given my current coffee obsession, is quite alright with me! i am immediately impressed with the aroma, more like fresh ground coffee beans than actually brewed coffee, still with some of that sweet toffee and cocoa character, roasty but not yet bitter, rich and earthy, fancy even, really attractive to me. roasted barley, dark and sturdy supporting in behind. the flavor is also more coffee grounds than actual coffee, but this time brewed, more bitter, intense, and even a little acidic. still warming and hearty, heavy roast now, bakers chocolate bitterness, and way more booze than this needs, i think this would have worked just fine at around 8% abv, who so strong?! some residual sugar gives it a smooth feel going down for how robust it is, but it starts to feel like a lot pretty quickly. a nice caffeine kick to this too. cool beer, i like the heavy handed coffee, but this isnt a beer to make an evening of, thats for sure. its cool how mothers has gone wild with some of these stronger beers, they do some super ambitious stuff and all of it is good. this was unique and delicious, coffee lovers rejoice!
