Three Blind Mice is inspired by our favorite qualities from English brown ales, German altbiers, and Irish reds. Mother’s trio of beer connoisseurs sipped away many a night, working to find this ideal combination. Mother’s beautiful brown beer is medium-bodied with caramel, toffee, and subtle chocolate malt flavors—all balanced by moderate hop notes and a clean, dry finish.
Three Blind Mice combines components of several malty beers for the unique brown beer experience you've been missing. After lots of research to find the perfect styles for our base, the clear winners were the lighter body and caramel characters of Irish red ales, the soft chocolate and toffee flavors from English brown ales, and the hop component and balance of German altbiers. We used traditional elements from each beer style and added our own touch for one incredible brown beer.

Draft/growler, weizen glass
A – Dark brown, fairly clear. An inch of slightly off-white foam on top, moderate retention. Somewhat bubbly.
S – Floral hop aromas with moderate bitterness showing. Light chocolate, mildly roasted grains. Warm, dark brown bread, a touch of pumpernickel.
T – Toasted dark brown bread, not particularly bitter from the malt. Some minor roasted coffee and a light semi-sweet chocolate backbone. Hops are somewhat herbal, moderately high, with well-balanced bitterness holding it all up.
M – Moderate carbonation, enough to scrub the palate. Bitterness as much from the malt as the hops, very pleasant.
O – Somewhere between doppelbock, Northern English brown, and brown IPA, this is an interesting entry for any of those styles. Regardless of genre, really an excellent, very drinkable brew.

It's not a bad beer. Nothing to write home about but an easy drinking beer
Beautiful to look at. A little chemically on the swallow.
Love Mother's Brewing. This is far from their best but it's still not bad

T: Rich explosion of caramel, warm spice, malt.
F: Warmth, fizz, crackle.

Chocolatey brown with low-moderate head and good lacing. Rich malt scent. Chocolate-forward taste with some caramel sweetness. Moderately bitter and sharp carbonation.

Amber hued with a fingernail of tan to creamy beige head. I smell caramel and sweet bready malt. I'm tasting that caramel to almost a cola flavor. The mouth is faintly sticky and otherwise easygoing.

I really love the deep and rich amber look of this beer, and this is a solid and successful marriage between brown ales and Irish reds, but the complexity of this beer isn't quite there for me. I taste some hop bitterness, some malt sweetness and a fair amount of a robust yeast, but I don't quite taste all the underlying flavors advertised. I do like the feel of the beer, though. Seemingly thin enough, but creamy and filling at the same time.
A solid and simple beer to my taste.
