Notes / Commercial Description:
Three Blind Mice is inspired by our favorite qualities from English brown ales, German altbiers, and Irish reds. Mother’s trio of beer connoisseurs sipped away many a night, working to find this ideal combination. Mother’s beautiful brown beer is medium-bodied with caramel, toffee, and subtle chocolate malt flavors—all balanced by moderate hop notes and a clean, dry finish.

Three Blind Mice combines components of several malty beers for the unique brown beer experience you've been missing. After lots of research to find the perfect styles for our base, the clear winners were the lighter body and caramel characters of Irish red ales, the soft chocolate and toffee flavors from English brown ales, and the hop component and balance of German altbiers. We used traditional elements from each beer style and added our own touch for one incredible brown beer.

Sampled from a Mother's tulip glass.... This brew is a chestnut amber color with a beautiful, thick, creamy head. The aroma is a little woody, with a toast and cracker flavor. The taste is balanced, and not as sweet as expected. Dry amber malt underpins the entire beer. Clean finish and full in body. Wonderful.

Three Blind Mice has a thick, mousey, ivory head, a semi-clear, copper appearance, lots of big and small suspended sediment, some lazy ascending bubbles, and fairly heavy glass lacing. The aroma is of slightly sour brown bread crust and some light caramel. Taste is the same, with a bit of char and a touch of bitterness. Everything, here, is mainly a muted affair. Mouthfeel is watery, and Three Blind Mice finishes medium wet.

So I'm reviewing this while being extremely stuffed up, which no doubt has at least a marginal effect on the smell and taste. Nevertheless, I was fairly disappointed in this beer. It pours a nice amber-brown, with little to no head; the smell is almost non-existent, just some slight sweetness, but again, I'm not in a position to pick up scents at the moment. The taste is light, some maltiness, bready middle, with a slightly bitter ending on the back of the tungue, but with very little complexity. WAY overcarbonated for my tastes in a brown, which ends up being the dominating factor in the experience. Ultimately, this is a drinkable brown, but there's just no flavor or complexity there. I'll try it again when my ollofactory sense is in perfect order, but as of right now this is a "don't buy again".

Received in a trade. Shared with JLindros.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip nice clearish light brown with a thin off white color that fades to leave light wisps.

S - Aromas of light toffee, faint chocolate and malts, very very light hops. Interesting nose.

T - Taste is messy, toffee, caramel, chocolate, the hops were rather herbal too, phenols as well.

M - Mouthfeel is a bit thin, watery.

O - Overall this was a huge disappointment. Just a very messy beer that never really comes together.

Clear dark coppery brown color with a decent tan head that persists and leaves some nice lacing.

The aroma is toasted malts, caramel, and a hint of chocolate.

The taste is also lightly toasted malt and caramel up front, hints of toffee, finishes with some dark chocolate, light to moderate hops in the finish.

Light to medium bodied, maybe a bit thin for the style but easy to drink.

Altogether a pleasant, but not spectacular brew, well worth a try.

Dark brown with a finger of foamy off white head. It smells pungent / infected. It tastes like skunked beer, maybe this one has just gone bad, I will not take another drink.

Received in trade from gregwilsonstl, thanks for the opportunity!
Pours a dark copper almost brown color with a huge frothy beige head that persists forever. Big caramel and toasted malt with a hint of chocolate and a touch of earthy hop to counter. The flavor adds some dark dried fruits as well. Pretty good brown ale.
