Marrying the best elements of traditional German golden ales and classic Midwestern wheats, this American Blonde lives up to Mother’s expectations. Towhead is refreshingly light-bodied with flavor that won’t quit. It starts slightly sweet with hints of fruit and finishes with the faintest hop kiss that’ll leave you reaching for another. And another.
Towhead is Mother’s little blonde baby. We've captured a subtle blend of sweet, fruity flavors—well suited for close examination yet balanced enough to go down smooth, clean, and crisp when you just want something cold and tasty.

Gold in color with a fingernail of dishwater white around the rim and a quarter of the top. The aroma is of light grains and lemon. I'm tasting lemon and light malt. The mouth is smooth, light, and quaffable.

From a bottle, this is a completely clear, golden-amber colored brew. Small white head. The aroma has a little grain and some bready malt, backed with a faint herbal hop scent. Nice clean flavor, with a crisp finish. Medium in body and I like the light malt flavor in the finish. Nice.

Towhead has a thick, slightly off-white head, a mostly clear, golden appearance, and some glass lacing left behind. Aroma is of very yeasty, sweet, sourdough white bread, and the taste is of those elements, with a shadow of banana and coriander. Bitterness exists, simply for rounding purposes. Mouthfeel is medium and a touch slick, and Towhead finishes crisp and refreshing.

Bought this beer while in Eurika Springs Arkansas. Bitter with a hard swallow. Hazy color and a strong smell. A good but not great beer. With all the choices out there I would not buy again.

I got a bottle of Mother's Towhead that my brother is sharing with me. It's pretty hot today and blonde ale sounds good, so lets see how it goes. 2016 Vintage. Poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a imperial pint glass.
A- The label looks nice, it goes with the name a little, but it isn't too eye catching. It poured a nice golden orange color that took on more of an orange color when held to the light with a little over a fingers worth of bubbly off white head that died down to a thin ring that eventually faded away and it left a little bit of spotty lacing behind. This is a nice looking beer, but I was expecting the color to be a little lighter for a Blonde Ale.
S- The aroma starts off with a higher amount of medium sweetness with the malts being the first to show up and they impart a very bready. little bit of wheat, biscuit and sweet malt aromas which is followed by the yeast which is doughy at first then it goes into a slightly fruity yeast aroma with a little bit of stone fruit coming through and towards the end there's just a slightly herbal and grassy hop aromas. This beer has a nice aroma, it's just a little unique for the style.
T- The taste seems to be similar to the aroma, but it's lighter and it starts off with a slightly lower amount of medium sweetness with the malts still being the first to show up and they impart most of the same aspects that they did in the aroma, but they are lighter and it goes into the doughy yeast which is also lighter. On the finish there's pretty much no hop flavors with a little bit of fruity yeast showing up with pretty much no bitterness and it doesn't have much of an aftertaste. This is an ok tasting beer, it's pretty average for the style.
M- Smooth, clean, pretty crisp, on the thicker side of being light bodied with some slightly prickly higher amount of medium carbonation. The mouthfeel is good and it works well with this beer.
Overall I thought this beer was just ok and I thought it was pretty average example of the style, the aroma was nice, but when it got to the taste everything got lighter and it made for a pretty bland tasting beer. This beer didn't have the best drinkability, one is more than enough for me since the flavor doesn't hold my attention. What I like the most about this beer is the mouthfeel, it's easily the best aspect and it's the truest to style. What I like the least about this beer is the taste, it's just pretty bland with no complexity. I wouldn't buy this beer if I saw it and I can't say I would recommend it withe since it's just not a good example of the style. All in all I wasn't a big fan of this one, it just didn't have much to it and it wasn't memorable. It's my least favorite Mothers beer and it's average at best for the style. Better luck next time guys, this one could use some work.
