Gotta love the name. Who wouldn't want to try a MILF? I feel like I'm married to a MILF, but I'll still try one anyway...
Got this as part of a trade. 12-oz glass into a tulip glass.

L: Pours thick, creates a slight head that dissipated. Swirling created some thick legs. This beer has substance, for sure.
S: Raisins. Dark fruit like dried cherries. But mostly raisins. Sweet like molasses. Smells like a dessert I had once but can't place what it was or where I was. It drew me in. I like dried dark fruit and raisins. Even if you don't, you should still try this beer.
T: My first sip was "woah", there's a lot going on and I wasn't expecting the complexity I got. Holy moly, this one needs some time. I knew this beer was one for sipping. I got all kinds of flavors: caramelized dark cherries, raisins, molasses, a bourbon-y taste/feel to the beer. A hint of anise. Sweet. Initially not very balanced, but it came together over time. Maybe it had to warm a little bit or I had to become accustomed. Or, likely, both.
F: thick. So thick the flavor lingers for a loooong time. Expect to spend some time with this beer.
O: I don't know if I'd run out to get another one, but if it was a decent price and I was in the mood to splurge, I just might get two. One for now and one to sit on a while.

12oz bottle poured into a snifter
Bottled 1/5/16

A- pours jet black in color with a foamy khaki colored head that reduces to leave just a ring around the glass

S- a boozy clash of all of the barrels open up the aroma with bourbon sticking out the most, immediately followed by sherry. Undertones of rum soaked raisins, molasses, vanilla, caramel & chocolate

T- big caramel/toffee sweetness up front, immediately followed by an onslaught of barrel notes. There's an immediate fruitiness that pops up, perhaps from the sherry. Sweetness of the rum and raisins are noticed mid-palate. As it nears the finish, whiskey & bourbon take flight, adding some spicy wood notes, along with vanilla. Melted caramel on the linger

M- medium-thick body with moderate-low carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel that turns creamy into the finish, abv is actually hidden pretty well

O- I haven't many multiple barrel stout that have meshed, but this one seemed to work, pretty tasty

L - 4.5 - poured into a tulip glass. Dark rich body with thin khaki head
S - 4.25 - BOOZIE, super intense
T - 5 - rich dark chocolate the way through. Slight hint of malty bourbon and vanilla. Delicious.
F - 4.75 - super smooth beer. No carbonation. Very light coat. Goes down extremely easy. So good
O - 4.75 - terrific beer. Pretty black body. Delicious beer. The first Stout I've had where the chocolate is this intense. So good. And then this beer goes down so easy, crazy smooth which is really impressive with it being 11%. I'll defiantly be looking for more of these. Cheers!

Opaque in body with light khaki head that fades. Aroma of cocoa, whiskey, some earth, wood, booze, raisins. Tastes of cocoa, big on raisins and prunes, booze, whiskey barrel, light prune notes linger in the aftertaste. Heavy bodied with light carbonation. Surprisingly refreshing.

12 oz bottle. Pours black, finger tan head fades to a lasting thin layer, not much lace. Mild bourbon barrel n vanilla aroma, wine notes there. Taste is sweet n boozy, woodsy with vanilla, red wine, raisins. Medium silky soft mouthfeel really stands out. Very tasty BB stout.

A- The pour is black as night into my snifter and a small, but very dense, deep tan colored head forms and hangs around a bit. Lacing is pretty good considering that the head reduces down to a ring on top of the beer.

S- Big booze and different barrel flavors greet the nose first when you take a sniff. Definite notes of the bourbon with some char and vanilla, but also some dark fruits from the raisins and probably the sherry casks. Spice and sweetness kick in a bit in the back end, but the lingering and prominent flavor overall is the strong barrels and booze.

T- The big booze flavors from the scent transfer directly to the taste right off the bat. You can't really pick out any of the barrels in particular, but the overall impression at the beginning of the taste is mostly barrel spice and some fruitiness. The fruitiness ramps up a bit towards the middle of the drink and the raisins become very evident in the flavor profile. Some chocolate comes through next, but is quickly overcome by the dark fruitiness of the raisins and the rest of the barrel flavors. The lingering flavor on the tongue is of the dominant raisin flavor and some booziness from the barrels.

M- On the palate, this one is fairly thick and smooth. I would almost all it oily versus calling it completely smooth though. There is a bit of alcohol warmth as you drink, but not much for the 11% ABV.

Overall, this is a fairly complex stout that may be a little too much at the end. The fruitiness is evident from both the raisins and the sherry casks, but the other types of barrels are hard to pick out when you are tasting. That being said, the combination of all of the barrels does provide a pretty satisfying overall drink.

Brown in color with no head and some lacing.

Aromas of raisin and fig, malt, molasses, booze, and minor chocolate.

Taste sweet dark fruit, malt, oak, rum/bourbon/booze, and some toffee.

Mouthful is medium and a touch thin but soft. Carbonation is low. Finish is a bit cloying.

For a beer that was put through 5 different barrels there is a tremendous even feel to the bottle. This reminds me more of a quad. Super sippable. Try this.

Thanks to Bunuelian for handing me this beer unprovoked. 12 oz. bottle consumed in a St. Cloud hotel room. Though after seeing the workers washing eight million sheets & towels right across the hallway, I’ll never complain about my job again.

The pour is black with a persistent lid. Aroma is a bit puzzling as it comes on like a toy hammer. Mild sweetness, vague booziness, but even after 15 minutes, not much. Eh.

I can only imagine what IT trip-wires I’ll set off during my next “ISO: MILF” posting from my work computer. The lack of smell explodes into a MILF-bang in my mouth. Boom! Huge barrel notes, mostly rum with a backdrop of sherry, & enough booziness to half-numb my agile tongue. Light spicing (rye whiskey or brandy?), brown sugar, sweet raisin, black licorice, numb throat. Wood finally shows & lingers, along with the 80 proof & slight smile. Sharp, full, & ridiculously drinkable. I could do this all night.

Four and a half penises straight up. Excellent beer.

The beer comes in a black color with hints of brown climbing up the glass when you swirl, with a medium brown head.

The aroma offers raisins, juicy figs, dried dates, fruit cake, waves of barrel character with rum, brandy, whiskey, big caramel sweetness, hints of roast.

The flavor follows a sharp hint of alcohol and barrel character, with brandy and rum coming through. Onto dark fruit with raisins, and plums, with some toffee and caramel sweetness. The beer moves onto a medium roast quality.

The mouthfeel is medium to medium plus. It reminds me of a a roast forward red wine, in terms of the robust fruit quality, oak, and silk mouthfeel.

L: pours black and super thick, no head
S: chocolate and tons of barrel notes. Rum, brandy and bourbon. Wow, lots of aromas to pick up. Smells great
T: yum! This is fantastic. Wasn't expecting this. The separate barrel notes compliment each other rather than detract from each other. Overall it's a sweet stout, not bitter at all.
F: thicker than it looks, very smooth and creamy. Very nice feel.
O: surpassed my expectations. This is a great beer!

A lot going on here; yet this is a well blended smooth beer that I enjoyed. All the flavors listed are present. I notice the raisins and Sherry more in the taste than the other flavors. Smells more of rum & Sherry combined.

Pours a rich dark chocolate color. Aroma is all over the place between all the barrel flavors. Flavor is really nice, very smooth with a roasted malt profile and booziness with a bit of a warm mouth. Overall a very good beer.

A beer is only as good as it tastes, and this one tastes purely like Milk Duds. It is so overly caramely sweet, almost zero hint of roatiness, chocolate, coffee, or anything else that marks the style. No hops, no roasted malt; just sickly sweet. One of the worst imperial stouts I've ever had.

Received as an extra in a trade. Pours inky black with a quick fading mocha head. Catch a lot of barrel and dark fruits in the nose. Taste is unique....the blend of barrels works perfectly. Very well balanced....alcohol is well-hidden. Medium heavy feel with little carbonation. Great stout...will definitely seek out again.

Tan head. Black color.

So much barrel flavor. Sherry and brandy flavors stick out a lot. Nice oak with bourbon and vanilla notes. Raisins and cocoa. Chocolate and dark fruits.

Full bodied. Well done.

The barrels are so unique and add so much flavor. Rum and cognac really show in the finish.

Terrible. A 5 because it looked good. 1's on everything else. Maybe it's because I'm poor white trash but this stuff is just awful. I enjoy a good stout but geeze. First sip tasted like whiskey so bad I poured it out. Drank a few Erdinger Weisbeers and tried it again. It's just unbearable to me. Good luck everyone.

Look: black as coal, 1+ fingers of tan head.

Smell: lotsa booze - whiskey, sherry, some sweetness, dark malts.

Taste: the sweetness is right up front, then the booze kicks in, some chocolate and cocoa maybe? Exquisite.

Feel: creamy delightfulness, the booze doesn't thin this out at all.

Overall: this is a world class Imperial Stout. My first beer from these guys, I'll be a repeat imbiber.

Black with brown edges. Small tan head. Molasses, burnt brown sugar, chocolate. Lots of rich roasted malt flavor. Sweet with some nice booze kick. Some vanilla and coffee. Sherry, bourbon barrel sweetness. It’s a bit muddled but there’s a lot of nice stuff going on. Mild oak. Long roasty, sweet finish. Low-ish carbonation. The alcohol heat is warm and nice. Very good imperial stout.

Post Tisha B'av libation. Good idea? We'll see. 12 oz. bottle into a snifter.

A - Pitch black with a half-finger mocha head. Head didn't stick around much, but the lacing is tremendous.

N - Whoa. A lot going on here. Up front I get a blast of roast and a moderate amount of vanilla. Then I get the brandy and bourbon coming in on the sides. No raisins or chocolate so far. Let's try.

T - Mmmm. Very tasty. Very very tasty. Definitely getting the raisin here. Lots of chocolate. Honestly, I'm not getting too much from the barrels, but to continue with my honest streak, it just don't matter. This is a decadent treat.

M - It's thick, but not a ton of coating. And it just disappears on the finish. Mouthfeel could use a bit more work, but I don't have too much to complain about.

O - Wish I didn't trade away my other 2 of these. Oh well. This is just outstanding.

Wow, I really liked this one here . . . one of the better barrel aged stouts I've had in a while. All these barrels may be a bit much but there is no arguing the layers of complexities it adds to this beer. Really liking the wine and rum attention. Fantastic stout . . . Good beer !

Appearance is jet black with a mocha head that leaves great lacing.
Smell is multiple different spirit barrels mainly port and bourbon barrel, with excellent dark base beer under - vanilla, coconut, caramel, bourbon, red wine, oak, dark malts, charred marshmallow, slight smoke.
Taste is awesome. Great bourbon barrel aged stout with just a twinge of red wine there. Vanilla, caramel, coconut, bourbon, brandy, red wine, dark fruits, dark malts, burnt marshmallow, dark chocolate, cocoa
Mouthfeel is awesome. Heavy and thick, alcohol completely covered, aftertaste is all the same goodness leftover from the taste
Overall, this is a beer i'd buy any time I see it on the shelves. It's insanely well balanced, and in my book it rivals bcbs.

Review for Milf Single Barrel Brandy Barrel Aged
A - 4.5 - nice dark brown/black beer with a big mocha head that sticks well and leaves nice lacing
S - 4.75 - big.vanilla, coconut, caramel, oak barrel, brandy, little bit of green apple
T - 4.75 - vanilla, coconut, caramel, oak, brandy, dark malts, dark chocolate, cocoa, tiny bit of smoke, tiny bit of green apple, overall it's just as complex as the "regular" Milf but the reg is slightly smoother
M - 4.75 - nice heavy, thick ba stout. Alcohol covered. Aftertaste is oak, vanilla, caramel, slight brandy, dark impy stout.
O - 4.75 - not surprising that this gets the same score as the regular milf, it's different but no less complex and no less good, glad I got to try it
