Arrived in a heavy cardboard box surrounded by different beers sent by connecticutpoet.

16 oz can, no date, poured into glass solo cup.

Really juicy hazy color, the cap is large and white and creamy, and the appearance is reminding me of the lemon meringue pie on the can art.

Lots of fresh, floral, fruity hop on the nose. Lemon, yes, and some grapefruit and pineapple. Slight pithy orange and nectarine as well.

The flavor is almost there for me. So close! But there's something lacking or off. I'm getting lots of astringent bitterness to start, perhaps the bittering hop could have been smoother; then some ever so slightly vegetal, leafy, grassy hop flavors; lime juice (may be the culprit); a wallop of grapefruit; toasted honey; slight orange peel, and finally some herbal flavors.

Feel is carbonated and burning (alcohol). Resins and alcohol dryness cling to the palate.

Overall, a pretty good beer. I'm tasting this lime thing and realizing that I really, simply don't like lime in my IPA's. Funky Buddha does it, Parish does it, and now Anchorage. Eh. Still pretty tasty, I can easily hit the ignore button on the lime juice and finish this beer in bliss.

Canned 7/12/19; drinking 8/27/19...okay so here’s a weird comment...it tastes reeeeeally good, lovely lemon and ever so slight tartness with a hint of malt, but....it finishes really watery! Smooth but there’s no body to in the the mouthfeel. I’m enjoying this, no doubt about it. I just wish it had more backbone.

16 oz can from Tavour. Milky pour with nice rocky head, lots of sediment. Sweet milky aroma, light lemon meringue. Taste also recalls a lemon meringue pie, subdued, and more lacto. Thick and creamy, small hop bite.

Today is the ocCANsion of New CANned Beer Through Tavour Sunday (Week 693) & I am super stoked to be opening a CAN from Alaska as a part of the day! If only I had some salmon jerky to go with it ...

From the CAN: "'watch your back, jean ...'" Hmm. Rather cryptic. Ah, it turns out that it is a nod to M. Brouillet of Tired Hands since this beer was a collab with that brewery.

I Crack!ed open the vent & beCAN a slow, gentle Glug, but it was hopeless from the outset. This was another hazebro AIPA! At some point, I threw caution to the wind & gave it a rather heavy-handed Glug since it did not matter. Man, the head came puffing up to form two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, bone-white head with great retention. The color was an impenetrably cloudy Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5). It looked like a liquefied Lemon Meringue Pie! Haha. They killed it! Nose was quite citrusy, lots of grapefruit & lemon, but with an added tropical sweetness. Hmm. This has worked in some examples that I have had recently, so perhaps not all is lost. Mouthfeel was big, soft & creamy. OMFG, the initial bitterness really caught me by surprise! Not only grapefruit & orange, but a good bit of pine resin and some tropical fruitiness! I was not expecting it to have that level of bitterness, but it was a welcome change from the tropical smoothie hazebros that are all too common in this style. Warming, the tropical fruit flavors became a little more assertive, rounding the edges from the initially extreme bitterness. At least one reviewer mentioned "Creamsicle/Dreamsicle" & that is close, but not spot-on. The lactose definitely adds a creamy dimension, but there are too many other flavors going on to really be evocative. Finish was dry & bitter, just the way I like my AIPAs, even if it did look like a smoothie milkshake.

Appearance – One finger head on a very hazy deep yellow body.

Aroma – Strong citrus, heavy on the lemon. Hints of white pine.

Taste – Heavy bitterness with accents of pine that fades to bready malt with a little citrus hint.

Mouthfeel – Smooth and creamy.

Overall – Although I don’t get “Pie” out of this, it was a pretty good beer in its own right.

16oz can served in a big snifter. Dated 03-15-18, "LEMON MERINGUE". I think given to me by @mr-jj.

Pours super hazy pale orange-gold with a big head and lots of carbonation. Smell is lemon/citrus, very lush.

Taste is super juicy, tropical, lacking in flat-out hop characteristic, but quite tasty nonetheless.

Mouthfeel is creamy and smooth. Overall, very nice beer.

A thanks to the stupendous woodychandler for this beer. Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a hazy golden color with a 1 inch head. Smell is of grapefruit, lemons. Taste is the same as the aroma, a light touch of pine, moderate bitterness. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall is a quality beer.

Light yellow, hazy body; thin yet creamy white head. A distinct citrus aroma but with other berry-like qualities; pineapple. The flavors start with a light malt flavor and quickly explode with a sharp, spicy hop bitterness and then an intense grapefruit and tangerine citrus presence. Medium body; creamy but with an overall pin-prick sharpness on the palate; some residual sugar sweetness but mostly a dry-like finish.

This beer is well-balanced and complex, presenting a nice, hazy NEIPA look with a very sharp, almost abrasive level of hop bitterness and bite. The citrus-like qualities nicely level things out.

This one pours a creamy looking pastel yellow, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells like lemon meringue, pink grapefruit, passionfruit, orange creamsicle, and weed.

I'm not entirely sure of the ingredients here, other than 100% Galaxy hops. There's probably some oats and lactose and all that sort of stuff that makes IPAs like this taste so t h i c c . The lemon and orange flavors are reminiscent of both lemon meringue and orange creamsicle, with grapefruit, and dank passionfruit, with a hint of bitterness. This tastes like a cross between a hop cone, a cloud, and a slice of pie- it's great.

This is soft, fluffy, and so drinkable, with a good level of carbonation.

I have been such a huge fan of Anchorage. I always thought their main scheme was putting delicious saisons and wild ales in my mouth, but it's now also clear they can brew a mean IPA. They are super underrated and one of the best breweries in the world.
