Double oaked bourbon barrel-aged barleywine / imperial stout blend finished on Tahitian vanilla beans. No, this is not Open Up More with vanilla beans; it’s a totally different blend of beers and barrels.

More of a stout than a barleywine, but a nice blend. Standard pour for a stout, browner than black, tan lacing that lasts. Smell is vanilla, bourbon barrel, and roasted dark malt. Taste presents the same in flavor, some notes of chocolate and dark fruit as well, very sweet. A bit thick, a bit syrupy, mouth watering and big bodied with a definite boozy burn. I sometimes think I make myself enjoy Anchorage’s barrel aged beers to justify paying so much for them, but this one is pretty good. However, it’s obviously not as good as some of their other higher rated ones.

This is a weird one for me. The pour is standard fare for Anchorage. But on the nose, it's relatively faint. Slight hint oak, vanilla, and perhaps dark fruit. Raisins? Not much going on. On the taste there is a considerable presence of chocolate followed up by vanilla. Nice oak flavor, some roasted malt, but overall this tastes subtle as well. Perhaps even weak. Mouthfeel is a little thin in comparison to an Anchorage Stout, but still has a solid density. This is an anomaly. This brew doesn't seem to have a lot of impact. Either that or I have a weak bottle or, it being a year old somehow, was too long for something this delicate. I wouldn't consider anything from this line "delicate", but perhaps it's true for this one in particular. Not sure what to think honestly.

375ml bottle at share. Inky black pour, ring of beige head. Aroma is a perfect blend of chocolate and vanilla. Taste brings in wooden barrel notes, sweet, chocolate, vanilla along with some mellow alcohol warmth.

375 mL bottle. Inky black. Fizzes up mocha bubbles for a moment. Smells of heavy roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla, and bourbon. Tastes of vanilla right up front. Bourbon behind it. Lots of chocolate and brown sugar. Pretty sweet. Bourbon and vanilla linger in the finish. Good.

This is excellent… although on the drier side, this really reminded me of Side Project’s Continuance Blend #1. Boozy raisins, bourbon, and a mildly estery sweetness throughout. Vanilla more prominent on the nose. Fantastic balance, and a huge surprise.

Pours deep black. Wonderfully balanced aroma dominated by sweet vanilla & bourbon with a taste that matches aroma. Nice medium mouthfeel, not too thin - not too thick. Incredible ale.

Very dark brown appearance with slight tan head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is a slightly sweet vanilla and bourbon. Taste is a strong slightly sweet bourbon and vanilla with a touch of dark berry and great feel
