Poured from a corked and caged bomber dated August 2012 Batch 2 into a snifter. Note: I'm reviewing the day after I opened the beer, was too busy drinking the beer yesterday to be able to write a review. The beer was sealed with the same cork it had originally.

Appearance: A hazy deep amber with a moderate head that doesn't stick around too long, and leaves a bit of lacing around after it's gone. A thin crown persists as the beer quickly disappears down my throat.

Smell: Reminds me of Le Terroir. The hop scent is definitely still there, although I'm sure more muted than if this were fresh. I get some floral character too, can't be sure if that's from the rose hips or the brett. A bit of tartness on the nose, but not too much.

Taste: Lovely! The hops still come through a bit, and add a hint of bitterness to the beer, and a nice citrus quality that pairs well with the tartness. This isn't a ridiculously sour beer, it's very moderate and eminently drinkable. There is a lot of depth here. Some vinous flavor comes through on the finish, as does a light bready malt. I'd love to try this fresh.

Mouthfeel: Moderately carbonated (possibly less so because the beer was opened the day before), the beer dances across my palate as I drink it down.

Overall: I wish I could buy this stuff anywhere. Really a very very nice beer. Not much to complain about at all. Heck my roommate, who is not much of a beer guy, was disappointed to hear I wouldn't be able to get this again easily.

Bottle dated August 2012, Batch #2

- Pours a hazy bronze orange with a healthy inch of foam that dissipates quickly.

- Notes of fruit tart, floral saison, and bitter hops.

- A mild fruit tart fills the mouth and transitions into floral and spice notes. The finish is a little funky and the surprising hop bitterness lingers for a bit.

- Overall a solid beer. The fruit sour and floral saison characteristics add complexity to this beer, but also make it sort of muddled, especially with the bitter hopped finish. I would prefer a stronger sour fruit tartness profile.
