This beer should be served on the warmer side-45-50F, although Beer Advocate recommends a lower serving temp. The higher temp brings out the tastes, Brett and grassiness.

Poured in Brooklyn Snifter. Very interesting looking beer: very light for an IPA. I could smell the aroma from the bottle: wine, citrus, and Brett-very barnyard.

The MF is highly unusual- it goes beyond the usual tartly carbonated- there is a pungent spiciness to the MF that sets it apart from most IPAs.

Taste: better warmer. Fruit, spice, lemon, Brett, a hint of coriander and more. As the beer warms, there is less intense pungency, and the flavors come through- especially the barnyard flavor from the Brett.

Overall_ highly distinctive and original. There are winey undertones to this beer, spice, complex fruit and more. The brewery distinctively brews beers which are different.
A different IPA experience.

Lots of bottle variability on this one. I've had a few gushers with corks hitting the ceiling and two totally flat nearly undrinkable bottles. This beer is good but I would avoid aging or buying old bottles.

A: Faintly cloudy pale yellow body with brilliant white foamy head, rings and sheets of lacing. Cool galaxy/whirlpool artwork- gets me ready to get dragged into this one!

S: Funk and major citrus overtones on the nose. Not getting much of the spice, but this is enough for me.

T: Good mix of funk/citrus/tang. Mostly lemon and white grape, including some of its potent puckering power. I detect a bit of sweetness but not much bitterness. Maybe the spices are finally present? Tangy finish. Reminiscent of watery lemonade.

F: Light bodied, faint but sharp effervescence. Wish that head lasted longer.

O: Intriguing for sure. When I'd had enough citrus I could focus on the funk. Kept my attention the whole bomber through, although by the end the lemon did start wearing on me- I could have appreciated a wider variety of hop flavors. My bottle was about a year and half old, I wonder how long it should be kept so that the funk becomes the main component?

Looks like an over carbonated white ZInf with a wicked chill haze. fresh squeezed white grapes. Super fizzy Head. TONS of carbonation rushing straight up the glass like an air pump.

smell - right off the bat super tropical citrus, pineapple, grapefruit, orange peel, pine, super spicy notes that i wish i knew what they were to describe them better, almost like you through a peppercorn in it. some mild dirty sock Brett funk.

Taste- White wine, bitter bite into a bundle of pine needles, carb burn 1 inch up from the tip of the tongue. ends with a lingering spice on the curl of the back of the tongue heading into the throat.

feel- suuper lite. no body.

Overall this isnt that impressive of a beer, especially from Anchorage Brewing, they put too much time into trying to re create the IPA and failed miserably. This is a completely unbalanced beer and has funky bitterness from places that shouldnt contribute to the taste of a great IPA. I can only hope that Bitter Monk is their answer to this.

Delicious, smooth drinkable white ipa. The kumquat add a odd but enjoyable sweetness. Very good, a must try.

Poured into a Funky Buddha Brewery snifter. Back of bottle says Batch #7 Oct/2014.

A- Pours a hazy light golden color with a 3/4 inch white head that retains well before becoming a thick ring around the edge of the glass and a mostly full sheet of surface foam. Semi-resilient lacing leaves a broken ring behind.

S- Bright Brett aroma commingles with the bright citrus of the hops. The funk is more of a clean one that adds to the zesty nature of the hop fume.

T- Refreshing taste of citrus and spice with the Brett providing an extra kick to everything. Mild bitterness and overall a very light flavor. Mild tartness on the backend from the kumquats. Tropical fruit flavor comes through more as it warms.

M- Tight and spritzy with medium-high carbonation and a very light body.

O- A damn tasty Brett IPA. I kind of wish this came out in the summer since it would taste even better under the hot sun. All the ingredients in this beer work harmoniously to create a unified flavor profile.
