Poured from a bottle to a glass. It poured a thick black. Produced a very short tan head that faded fast to a thin lacing around the glass. This stout smells very smooth, creamy, with a hint of alcohol. This does not remind me of an oatmeal stout. It lacks the smooth mouthfeel. More of a bitter taste and watery mouthfeel.

On tap at the brewery. Dark, almost black, with no real head but a few bubbles. Roasted malt and chocolate smell. Medium and slightly creamy feel. Taste has some malty sweetness with chocolate notes. Pretty good!

Not much head, even when not served on nitro, thin carbonation is reminiscent of a nitro-poured beer. The flavor is more akin to a milk stout, in my opinion. All-in-all, my favorite beer that I've had from LaBrewCo.

Notrous version of BAOS, which added a creamy texture to an already very good stout. Served in a Nonic glass w/1 finger of head which lasted until the end. Roasty, smoky and dark chocolate smell and flavor. Very nice creamy mouth feel accentuated by the nitrous. I've had the regular BAOS before and the nitrous adds another dimension to this beer.

This beer is a sentimental favorite for me. Like most of the brews at LBC, this beer is typically served at the perfect temperature and should be enjoyed right away.

This is the Oatmeal Stout that I compare against all others. In my judgement, it has the perfect blend of Oat, chocolate, and malt flavors. The beer is a wonderful deep brown color, almost black, and the stillness of the brew certainly sets it apart from the typical over-carbonated tap beer. The only criticism I have is that the beer can have a salty aftertaste.

I have been to this brewpub over 100 times, and I never come without drinking this beer. If I am ever even close to Lafayette, I pack a growler. I have made special occasional pilgrimages to LBC with the goal of having a Stout. Occasionally, it will be available cask conditioned, a rare treat worthy of keeping them in your contact list.

A: Near black body, trace khaki head, light lacing.

S: light roasted nut, chocolate, caramel, mild coffee

T: mild chocolate, roasted nut, caramel, coffee, malt,
light burnt finish

M: med/light body, smooth body

O: Solid, fine rep of style and nice sessionable
brew for autumn and winter nights in Great Lakes.

NICE, NOT MUST HAVE!

On tap at the brewpub in a sampler glass.

A: dark, jet-black color, no head
S: milder roasted malt nose, on the sweeter side for a stout
T: nice balance of roasted malt and hops but lacked character
M: decent beer but lack character overall for an oatmeal stout
