On tap at capital tap room Sacramento beer week. Well, it looks like a golden, but the taste is a little tart, lacking in any Belgian sweetness or fruitiness. Not sure what they were aiming for here.

A - Pours a clear golden color, one finger of head that settles to a nice white cap.
S - All I smell are Belgian yeasts and a little banana..
T - A very pleasant if ordinary Belgian strong flavor. I don't pick up any citrus or mandarin orange flavor. Alcohol is well hidden, not boozy at all.
M - Creamy mouth feel.
O - This is a pretty good beer - I'd drink it again - but I was hoping for a mandarin orange kick.

I like this batter than the score might look. Its definitely got a pretty gold color. Very little head. The honey and orange is there but not obnoxious. There is sulfur in. The nose and taste. Little, but its there. Its the type of beer you probably like most when you drink several in a sitting.

Poured from the bottle into a tulip glass.

A deep lemon/orange body, almost pineapple yellow with a dark orange hue for the body color. Not much noticeable carbonation, quite opaque and solid. Two finger head is creamy and bright white, with some decent soapy retention and staying power.

Very inviting bouquet. Deep spritzy and sweet orange oil zest on the nose. Quite a real nice balance going on there, and a very unique orange aroma. Controlled sweetness, but doesn't seem to come from Belgian candied sugar either. Real nice smelling brew.

Palate brings a lot more interesting character. Sweet but tolerable, and slightly soda cream quality. Hints of vanilla soda fountain sweetness, and classic orange brightness. Juicy body, a hint of boozy but controlled flavor kicks in as well. There's a real interesting green like spice to this as well which makes the beer incredibly refreshing, hints towards thyme and sage. Slight mineral quality too, but with a much thicker malt body.

This is a real nice take on a Belgian with orange character. Every other ingredient seems to accent it, in such a real wonderful and unique way as well. The sweetness while not overboard, is just a little much, and slightly comes off a little candy store like strangely. Otherwise great brew.

A: medium gold body just shy of clear; white head a few fingers tall; some lace draped behind

S: citrus and grain - like biscuits and orange slices - slightly herbal with a yeasty tang

T: along the same lines as the nose - the oranges are appreciable, and just faintly sweet with honey; floral and citric, suggestions of light breads and flaky biscuit

M: medium body, ample carbonation, soft and smooth with a fuzzy tingle

O: I felt like something really impressive could've happened here, but instead I got a nice beer - citric, distinctly Belgian in styling, light and easy to drink - nothing I would return to, but nothing to besmirch either.

Great beer. Just had one at Public House in Vegas. Uses Valencia oranges. Amazing.

Pours a translucent gold hue with a slight foaminess. The aroma consists of citrus and sourdough. Tastes contains mandarin sweetness, lemon zest , floral notes, coriander, lights spices, and peaches. Mouthfeel is crisp and clean. Overall a very nice, refreshing beer - drink it outside on a hot summer California day.
