This West Coast IPA features an explosive aroma of citrus, tropical fruit and dankness from a blend of Citra, Mosaic, Simcoe, Hallertau Blanc and El Dorado hops. Intensely hoppy without overt bitterness, a light malt backbone balances this IPA, giving it a clean finish and making it a beer to be enjoyed again and again. Inspired by San Francisco but brewed to be enjoyed everywhere. Enjoy with super burritos, hangtown fry, and rich cioppino.

The nose is beautiful, fruity and complex. They should all be like this- fruity like a dessert pastry, full of peaches, tangerine, guava, cantaloupe, but balanced with a judicious amount of grapefruit peel and dank/onion support. The palate is initially sharp hit of the fruit, cut short by a sudden wave of coarsely bitter grapefruit pith, and then sort of evaporates. Mouthfeel is in between silky and chalky. I'm not getting any connection between the aroma through the finish, unfortunately. It did start out beautifully, though.

Can from ABV.
A mildly hazy orange with a dense, off-white head that falls off to a disk leaving little lacing, this looks solid. The nose is solid. The Maris Otter adds a nice, soft breadiness, doughy but creamy. This is followed by a Citra-heavy nose with melon, a little fresh-cut grass, citrus, semi-ripe peaches and some nectarine. The Hallertau Blanc adds a mild melon character. Very nice. The palate opens moderately bitter, quite clean, though there is a touch of grassiness present. A pleasant hop oil character is present as well. The mid-palate has a mild sweetness that works well with the hoppy fruit salad, a blend of pine, citrus, melon and peaches. Drying, creamy, moderately bitter on the finish with a moderate, creamy carbonation, this beer feels pretty solid on the palate. Color me impressed.

Ah, sweet, another generically fruity IPA, with astringent bitterness and an orangey glow. Definitely the style of the day, but my personal preference.

A thanks to the captain of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a rich golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of citrus, malts. Taste is oranges, pineapple, juicy, some malts are present. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall is smooth and tasty.

Very tropical nose, more balanced bread, citrus, tropical fruit, and pine notes on the tongue. Crisp and very enjoyable.

I am spending Thanksgiving 2016 being thankful for a chance to add some beers to The CANQuest (tm). I have been immersed in the Bottle Backlog here at Chez Woody long enough that I want to detour back to my favorite serving style, if only for a day.
From the CAN: "Tropical - Citrus - Dank"; "Aromatic West Coast India Pale Ale"; "Malt[:] Two row, Maris Otter"; "Hops[:] Citra, Mosaic, El Dorado, Simcoe, Hallertau Blanc".
I love hearing the Crack! and it inspires me to CANduct an inverted Glug. I got most of the CANtents of the CANtainer into the awaiting glass before I had to back off due to foaming. The raised up to just under three fingers of dense, rocky, foamy, eggshell-white head that took its sweet time in falling. I am ready to drink some beer! At least there was plenty of sticky lacing left in its wake. Color was a slightly hazy Golden-Amber (SRM = > 5, < 7), just hazy enough to cause The Gelt Gang to remain on my couch where they were watching football. Nose had a strong citrus and tropical fruit presence and my hophead mouth was set to watering. Grapefruit, definitely, possibly papaya and/or mango. Mmmm. Mouthfeel was medium-to-full, big for an AIPA. The taste was more towards the tropical fruitiness of papaya and mango at the forefront and the citrusy bitterness more downplayed, but still perceptible. Finish was semi-dry, very pleasant and a nice drink to have from a CAN. Hula in the Coola Day (01 February) is coming up & this would brighten a winter's day.

Looks translucent dark yellow with quickly fading average head and lots of lacing. Smells of pine and citrus hops with malt backbone. Taste is of lemon and pine and herbal hops with decent balance of malt in the back. More than the sum of its parts; this one comes together into something nice and easy drinking for an unseasonably warm 65 degree November day. Not exceptional but well done.
