My own personal, best of all worlds beer. I’m not really a beer snob so that’s the best I can do.

Mildly foggy pale yellow with a tall and puffy white foam head.
Corny white wheat pairs with an almost funky yeast, or is that a little veg? I couldn't quite grasp this quality after my first pour at a wedding, so I had two more to really dig in and I'd identify it more in the realm of yeast and straw, kind of like a local to me rustic helles, which in the end made it all the more intriguingly drinkable.

My gold standard for the cream ale was always New Glarus' Spotted Cow. Then, BA reclassified it as a farmhouse ale... and I got confused about cream ales and they have never been the same.
So, it was nice to get on the road to recovery and have a cream ale. Enjoyable. It even helped wash down a greasy pizza.
While Grand Rabbits is a clever name if you are from western Michigan, I have to give it average ratings for Looks (appetizing, but not lasting foam) and Smells (mildly fruity.) Tastes get a bit more interesting and it is balanced. While light in my mouth, it was bubbly enough to cut through the grease of the pizza. Did its job.
As for my micro-review of Blackrocks.... it has been over 11 years since the founders decided to take their home brewing to the next level. They have survived a seasonal market basically limited to summer in the Upper Peninsula and now distribute to other parts of the state. In reviewing their photos and bios, Blackrocks does have fun. But I did not see one woman among employees. Is all they do is fish and brew up there?

A very fine beer thats defined by its drinkability and hop bite on the finish. It feels more like a cross between a pilsner and pale ale to me but I enjoy this beer nonetheless.

Poured into a pint glass. It pours a hazy, greenish-straw color with a modest, foamy, bright-white cap and minimal lacing. The aroma is quite hoppy for a Cream Ale. I'm smelling lemon peel and grains along with the bitterness of the hops. Citrus dominates the opening taste. The sweetness of the grist is noticed after the initial lemon tartness. The Willemette hops provide earthy, herbal bitterness at the finish. This Ale has a lite, crisp, refreshing mouth feel with a pleasant level of carbonation and it is very easy to drink at 5.5% ABV. The idea of a dry-hopped Cream Ale is a good one and Grand Rabbits is ideal for drinking while engaging in outdoor activities.

12 oz can
Pours mostly clear straw golden, pillowy white head slowly dissipates to sudsy lacing.
Aroma of cereal malts and hints of citrus.
Flavor is of cereal and dry bread malts, whispers of citrus.
Light to medium body, tingly carbonation.
Very clean and drinkable. Flavor is pretty muted, but what's there is good. A bit strong to be sessionable, but it's very easy to throw this back. No frills, very basic, probably good food pairing beer.

A great twist on a cream ale. Pours a translucent yellow color with lots of bubbles. It’s got a lightly hopped nose. The sweet candy flavor at the start finishes with a slight hop finish. A great tasting beer from da UP, eh?
