Poured from 12 oz. can into pint glass. It pours a bright cola color with one finger of foamy, ecru-colored head and lacing. The smell features coffee, caramel, and roasted malt. The coconut comes through in the taste, along with dark bread, caramel, tobacco smoke, and some chocolate. It finishes with a lingering taste of coconut, which is really pleasant. It has a soft, lite, almost silky mouth feel with pleasant carbonation, and its moderate ABV of 6% makes for easy drinking. Overall, a lot of Brown Ales are bleh but this one isn't. It has a nice blend of tastes and is really easy to drink. This is a versatile beer: it would work well pared with a light meal or for casual drinking. I enjoyed it!

Thanks to Superspak for this one from his NBS BIF #4 box. 12oz can poured into 10oz goblet. Poured a clean, clear medium brown color with just a thin cap of tan head that immediately dissipated, and left zero lacing.

In the nose, I got a hint of leather, some base malt sweetness, and just the faintest whisper of coconut. Pretty similar on the tongue, some sweetness, some grain and caramel, and the coconut was a bit bolder.

The body was fairly light and thin, and the sweet finish lingered for a few moments. Drinkability was good, I drank me can quickly and easily. Overall, a solid and enjoyable brew. Perhaps not one that someone would go out of their way for, but one that's worth a shot if you see it.

12oz can from LambicPentameter (thank you!). No apparent canning date. Served in my trusty Phish snifter.

Pours a ruby highlighted brown with two full fingers of fluffy ecrue head. The foam dies down leaving very little surface haze and a full collar but no lace.

Aromas of toasted coconut, chocolate malt, caramel and some vague roast. Almost like the distant hint of a Mounds bar.

The flavor blends coconut, caramel, chocolate and some bread. The coconut adds nicely to its basic brown ale vehicle.

Medium light, almost creamy feel with moderate carbonation. Finishes with coconut mixed in caramelly and chocolate malts.

An easy drinking brown with a nice coconut presence from Blackrocks. Seems like it could be a good trail beer.

Another Yooper brewery they are popping up like dandelions, let's give it a whirl. Popping the top I get a waft of tasted malts. Pours to a root beer brown with an off white head. On the taste this brew is a roasted coconut flavor up front with a sweeter middle and a tart finish. Not overly sweet, smooth and refreshing.
