Another solid offering from one of my favorite brewers in Michigan. Plus the fact that it's named after the scientific name for rainbow trout, makes this a perfect river beer. Color is pale straw, and looks more like a pale ale, than an IPA. Nose is muted, and very subtle. Taste is crisp, clean, and not overly bitter. I'm guessing citra hops are in play here. Finishes crisp and clean as well without a strong bitter after taste. Very easy drinking for a 7.5% beer. I've finished mine and am going to grab another, and then watch University of Michigan alum Tom Brady win another Super Bowl.

Soft fruity hard candy, really nice and delicate fruit/hop interplay, nice bitter edge, crusher.

12 oz can dated 4/9/19 from Junior. Served in North Coast Nonic Pint.

Deep amber gold with a tall fluffy white cap of 3 fingers, leaving thick lacing behind and receding to a finger.

Aroma. WOW. A tropical bouquet with cantaloupe, tangerine, mango, papaya, pineapple, and tons of ruby red grapefruit.

Flavor starts with a piney bite and then segues into pine water and lemon peel, with slight tangerine sweetness. Good amount of grapefruit in there too. The malt is also apparent with a solid honey sweetness and slight bread dough.

Feel is creamy and crisp in equal amounts, very pleasant with lingering resins.

Overall, the taste let me down a bit, but overall this beer is pretty enjoyable. Nice work.

12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 1/16/2018. Pours slightly hazy medium golden yellow color with a 2 finger fairly dense and rocky white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big tangerine, lemon, lime, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, lightly toasted biscuit, light honey, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, lemon, lime, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, lightly toasted biscuit, light honey, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/zest, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, lemon, lime, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, citrus peel/zest, pepper, pine, toasted biscuit, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and zero lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/sticky, fairly crisp, and slightly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 7.5%. Overall this is a fantastic IPA. All around outstanding complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and extremely easy to drink; with the modestly bitter/drying finish, never aggressive. Incredibly balanced juicy and dank hop complexity; nice solid bready malt backbone, with minimal residual sweetness. A highly enjoyable offering.

My favorite brewers in Michigan. Also the galaxy. This is another outstanding and unique IPA from the hop masters of Michigan. Goes down smooth for 7.5% as well.

Fantastic limited brew from a great Michigan brewery. Must pick it up if you enjoy a nice, crisp IPA on a sunny day.
