Lots of fruity aroma, plus a yeasty presence on the nose.
The taste is the same-- citrus and spices and bread. Can't tell right away that it is a high alcohol content.
Overall, a very decent brew.

Updated 8/31/16.

Look: Sound Brewery tasting glass, on draft. Dark yellow body, thin white head.

Smell: Orange, tangerine, peach, and a vegetal green pepper note.

Taste: Same as above, with a hint of grain and a bit phenolish.

Feel: Medium body and carbonation. The carbonation is very fluffy. Slight hop bitterness.

Pours a murky golden-orange with a foamy tan head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace drip into the remaining beer on the drink down. Tiny particles of sediment are seen suspended in the beer after the pour. Smell is of dried citrus peel, tropical fruit, earth, spice, and Belgian yeast aromas. Taste is much the same with grain, earth, dried citrus peel, spice, and Belgian yeast flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop and spice bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer that is tasty, but I think the mix of aromas I am getting is slightly better.

Serving type: bottle.

22oz into a tulip. Pours a clear coppery amber w/ a 1-finger head, moderate carb.

Aroma is a blend of clean pale and caramel malts; spicy Belgian yeast; and floral, citrusy hops. Smells fresh and bright with underlying notes of dry oak.

Taste follows nose. Biscuity pale malt, fruity Belgian yeast, and a nice sharp citrusy, hoppy bitterness. Peach and tangerine. For a 10% beer the ABV is very well hidden.

Mouthfeel is clean and crisp. Bottle conditioning gives it a nice round softness, hops give it a sharp finish.

Overall, we have a winner here. A Belgian DIPA? A solid, hoppy BSPA from across the Sound.

Pours a translucent orange colour with a finger thick white head that has some staying power. The nose leads with some citrus hop and tropical fruit and is followed up by yeast, banana and pale grain malt. The taste reveals a lot of the same with the yeasty Belgian flavour coming through and finishing with some alcohol sweetness and burn. The mouthfeel is in the medium range and finishes quite crisp.

Handsome rich golden color with a persistent swirl of foam. Delicious aroma of pear cider is enlivened with alcohol fumes.

Deep fruity flavors with a buttery overtone. Just sweet enough. Utterly well balanced. Dy pineapple flavor is luscious.

Sensational hot and dry liqueur taste. This is just so good for a really strong Belgian-inspired brew. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Bottleworks in Seattle.

Extremely rich flavor in an oily light bodied ale. Pleasant hops, pleasant effervescence - just rich and pleasant overall. This is a great beer.
