Smith Commons exemplifies how far along the H Street corridor has truly come. Last year's rug shop is today and tomorrow's fine dining spot. Smith Commons is most certainly a welcome addition to the strip, but I think it lacks a lot of the charm and character of the "flagship" restaurants on H Street such as Granville Moore's, The Argonaut, or even Liberty Tree. Smith Commons has more of an "Arlingtonian" feel to it than H Street.

I love the space. Dimmed environment. Chic and upscale. "Grown up" environment. Lots of exposed brick and simple decor. The first floor is the main restaurant portion of the establishment. The 2nd floor is a lounge with couches and a few tables as well as a huge window facing H street and a great looking deck in the back. The third floor has a small bar and would be a nice spot for private parties.

It's a good thing that Smith Commons is a very inviting place to have a drink, because the food left much to be desired. The menu is really interesting, but its downfall was that it was limited, expensive, and didn't taste all that good.

Wine selections are quite average. Now onto the beer, the best part about this place other than the decor and space. Had about 7-8 brews on tap (e.g., Stone, Great Lakes, Ommengang) which were good craft beer selections. They also sold overpriced bombers from Stillwater, Ommegang, and Allagash.
