This larger food market is just a few block s from all the heavy hitting beer bars of the neighborhod. Here you will find a large selection of all things food with an Asain filter. as for the beer there is a moderate display in a cooler unit in the back and a respectable but not awe inspiring area of bottles kept at room temp. Besides that the highlight will be the 2 0r three lines they run for growler fills at the front. Expect one from sixpoint and one from Brooklyn. Again nothing special, but you will be able to get some decent beer at the spot.

The wife and I went out to Williamsburg a while ago. There is Mug's Alehouse, d.b.a., Spuyten Duyvil Grocery, the new "growler bar" inside Duane Reade at the edge of Bedford Avenue... I checked them all out. Then, walking towards the gorgeous Russian Orthodox Cathedral on 12th Street (not too far from Brooklyn Brewery), I stumbled upon Khim's Millenium Market. I was drawn by their big craft-beer ads on the outside windows, touting their newly-installed growler station.

This may sound like a cliche, but I am indeed surprised this place has not yet been listed. Even if Williamsburg is a relatively beer-rich area, this place is up there with the best.

Khim's is mostly an organic grocery store, very well-lit, spacious, super clean and -yes- super pricey too. I'm rating the atmosphere with a "4" because of the cleanliness and spaciousness.

But come here for the beer- they've got an impressive selection, with plenty of imports from Britain, Scotland (including six-packs from over there, which I swear have never seen around NYC).

There is a huge cooler with lots of American craft sixers, including Speakeasy, River Horse, Shipyard, Ballast Point, Green Flash and Hebrew, but also plenty of crappy Euro trash and macros.

Bombers too (Blue Point, Ommegang, Stone) and great choices in Belgians, including St Bernardus and a bunch of lambics.

Beyond the chilled beers and the Belgian section, you will find a room-temp shelf with more craft options.

Their small growler station has only three taps, two Sixpoint and one Defiant. At $5-$6 per growler refill, price should definitely not be an issue!

Prices on the packed beers were not bad either. Not any pricier than what I'm used to in Manhattan... it is the groceries that cost a pretty penny here!

Service is non-existent, though, even for the growler section. You're on your own.

Come check it out if you live in the 'hood or you happen, like me, to be strolling around W'burg.
