I had never heard of Adventure Brewing until we were driving by looking for battlefield locations and the wife saw a sign for this place. Not easy to find despite being not far from the main road.
Odd locale- a cavernous space in a warehouse setting, but the bar itself looks like an old Irish dive, with wood panels and all. The selection is pretty limited: pale ale, IPA, red ale, stout... I tried their Scotch ale (good but average) and the wife had their Second Ascent DIPA which we thought was delicious.
They also sell bottles and packs. I bought a bomber of their barrel-aged Stonewall stout.
This place is definitely average all around, but it doesn't hurt to stop for one or two.

I was here on a Wed. This place is now Adventure Brewing South. Their second location. It was in transition mode when I visited. Kind of off the beaten path and I wouldn't know it was back here if I was not looking for it.

Don't let the location scare you off, it is in the back of a warehouse area on the other side of the tracks. Good beer and food, will be returning in the future.

Very nice friendly place and great beer. I hope the change of ownership continues to go well and that all the beers can still be enjoyed. I played my bagpipes at this brewery once for some celebration, tried the beer and also got a t shirt. Cheers!

Interesting place. As noted by another reviewer, the biggest problem here has been consistency. It seems to be getting better now, however. I have always been pleased with my service here, unlike others, and the beer is reasonably good.

Living in Fredericksburg, I've been to BG many, many times. The food is pretty good, but they are only open Thursday-Saturday. The burgers are delicious and the mussels are definitely worth trying. Many main issue with BG is consistency. For example, the 1st few times I had the Boreman's I freakin' loved it. But, other times it's barely drinkable. Same with the seasonals- some years the Oktoberfest is 3.75/5, but other years...not. I'm not sure if it's inconsistency in the brewing/ingredients, or if they have a problem with their in house taps. I like the place, but I want to love it.

This was an interesting little stop on our journey from PA to TN and back. First off, if you have a questionable GPS, you might want to be careful...mine sent me down a private road, and oh, I could see the brewery, but it was well beyond a huge iron gate that would not yield to my simple crossover vehicle.
But once we did find our way to the place, we were greeted by a friendly waitress, who informed us that they were pet-friendly, and so we sat outside with the dogs at our feet. The place looks pretty simple, probably a converted warehouse, seated within what seems like an old railcar depot of some kind. Brick facade, nice and simple outdoor seating area. Inside is pretty spacious, with a medium-sized bar, and plenty of sitting/standing room.
There was a decent selection of 8 beers or so on tap. The beers were mostly simple flagships: a lager here, a pale ale there, with a bourbon barrel stout thrown in to keep things interesting. They do sell bottles and provide growler fills. Supposedly they do serve food here, but we had already eaten, so we didn't bother looking at the menu.
The service again, was fine. Our waitress was very accommodating serving us outside, on that unusually blustery spring day. She always checked up on us and we weren't left waiting. She seemed to have a good general knowledge of the beers on tap.
It's a cool place, though if you're a typical beer geek, I doubt there's anything here you haven't seen before. Makes for a good pit stop, and it's worth checking out at least once.
