i hope this one makes it to bottle, its so delicious. a sage based wild ale, blonde and probably comprised primarily of wheat, this is a very light and refreshing drink, perfect for summer, perfect for food, and on par with some of the best crooked stave beers to date. its hazy but vibrant golden yellow in color, with a tall white head in the tulip glass that never really relaxes. notes of fresh sage, not super pungent but definitely unmistakable, and wild brett make up the nose, and the flavor follows. the herbal element is all up front, letting the brett finish it up. creamy feel from the wheat malt and medium carbonation, while there is also a tartness to the finish, definitely short of sour, but plenty funky. no doubt about which brewery made this brew! the wild yeast complexion in the finish is great, and the beer overall is extremely dry. there are more and more sage beers out all the time, stillwater, perennial, and epic all come to mind, but this one is in a class of its own.

On tap at the brewery at The Source. Yellow color, hazy. Aroma was buttery and then sage. I don't know if it was diacetyl but I did not like the buttery smell. The flavor however was kind of cool, the sage wasn't too heavy, a nice saison. Overall this was nothing special and I certainly wouldn't buy a bottle of this.

Tried a sampler of this on my recent trip to CS.

Looks just like all their other brews, golden with a white head.

The smell is very much sage with some very light yeasty funk.

Yikes, initial taste is overwhelmed by the sage. It becomes easier to pick up the slight tartness and slight funk characteristics a few sips later.

Overall, not a big fan of this. Solid beer, but not for me.
