Hazy golden orange color.

Tons of tropical fruits. Mango and grapefruit with peaches and oranges. Nice funk,
Nothing overdone with the Brett.

Light bodied. Nice sourness.

Well done. Very enjoyable!

375mL bottle poured into a snifter
(A)- Pours a golden yellow color. Some solid white froth
(S)- A nice dry yet funky oaky citrus meets subtle pine
(T)- Nicely tart citrus up front that flows into some funky bitter pine. Finishes dry with an oaky bark taste
(M)- A nice carbonation level and balance. Tart, dry, and funky but with a nice hoppy kick to even things out
(O)- An interesting play on what I would call, a funky wild meets a citrus forward pale ale

Enjoyed 6/27/15

Appearance: Moderate clarity gold, thin head.

Aroma: Touch of funk and nose-hair tingling acidity.

Flavor: Nice moderate acidity and fruity hop. More barn-y funk than most CS brews at this point.

Mouthfeel: Bone dry and refreshing.

opened side-by-side with the batch 60 re-release that happened instead of the primitif release. enjoyed progenitor from the 13 cellar reserve teku and the 60 from a what the funk wine glass. confirmed...these are the same beer.

a - an almost neon orange yellow with a generous froth off cream colored head that left some nice streaks of lace on the on the glass. murky and cloudy to the light, but glowing. some visible carbonation bubbles could be seen dancing to the surface.

s - nose is a wonderful smartie sweet tart egginess. the dry hop also shows itself as an almost tropicana oj vibe of bitterness on the tail of the scent.

t/m/o - as with the first round of batch 60, really a wonderful brew. sweet tart sour that tickles your taste buds like candy. crisp and refreshing. one of my favorite stave beers. really just spot on. i hope that they continue to release this periodically as it is so nice to have that freshish batch 60 again. excited to have a few progenitors and a few batch 60 re-release/re-brew. although i did prefer the name primitif, i'll live as long as the elixir is this good!

Reviewing Wild Wild Brett Batch 60, a dry hopped sour ale from the Crooked Stave Artisan Beer Project out of Denver, Colorado.

Score: 96

2013 vintage bottle served in a Kate the Great tulip/snifter and enjoyed on 03/01/15.

Appearance: Pours a clean, orange-copper color with nice glow when held up to light. A thin fizzy off-white layer of head from the pour quickly dissipates. 4/5

Smell: A strong, juicy odor of orange and tangerine citrus explodes from the glass. Notes of lemon, pineapple, a kiss of brett and a mild lacto character too. Really lovely, and reminisce of Dry Hopped L'Brett D'or. The nose is absolutely divine. 5/5

Taste: Like the nose, the taste is loaded with sour citrus flavors and a finish that is heavier on the brett/lacto than what was present in the nose. Notes of pineapple, oranges, peach, and apricot upfront. A little lasting funk on the finish. 4.5/5

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, nice carbonation. Very dry finish. A bit sour, but mild on the acidity relative to its profile. 4.5/5

Overall: Now over a year old, the citrus/stone fruit aromatics/flavors of this beer really shine and the buttery diacetyl character that was pungently present fresh is totally gone. Drink 'em if you got 'em.

Cost: $10 for a 375 ml bottle.
