Mid sized bottle - "2014/Batch 6"

Pours dark, dark brown, near light black (if thats a thing), minor mid khaki cap, leaves a long lasting film and some low strands of lace.

Big blast of oranges on the nose, along with confectionary sugar and a whiff of the oncoming sour

More big sour blasts on the palate, oranges screaming through along with some vinagar....crisp, sour, citric, delicious...happy to find this at Stew leonards, beer/wine/booze spot in Danbury, CT

Murky dark brown with an amber tint that is revealed when held up to light. No head retention. Aroma is Brett,citrus,and a tart red wine note mingled together. The Brett dominates the palate but the citrus lingers after the fade. The mouth is dry,crisp and refreshing.

poured into a tulip glass after aging a bit

appearance - dark brown on the pour with very little lacing.

Smell - roasty malts up front and i get some coffee and chocolates

Taste - super tart up front which leads into a sweet citrus taste to be complimented with malts and tart at the end

Mouthfeel - lots of acidity up front, but finished quite sweet

overall - by far my favorite seasonal st. bretta after letting them all age. this one had so much going on, that I found each sip different

Deep dark brown with a reddish tint. Nice head disappears quickly. Smell is of wild yeast, some red wine, oak. Taste is slightly tart with a berry (elderberry, gooseberry maybe?) on the back end. A bit acidic. Not noticing much Brett. Feel is medium with a nice puckering tartness not overwhelming though. O- another excellent brew from CS. Just wish the Brett was a little more present.

2014/Batch 6

Pours a super effervescent crimson/mahogany with a pinky of tan head. Stays effervescent, middling head retention & lacing

S: Sourness, leafy hops, oakyness, nice, not great nose

T: Much sourness, tartness, oakyness. hints of raspberry & sour cherry up front. Grapefruit & orange rind as this warms, nice dryness, tartness. Finishes tart, sour, with a little grapefruit, & lemongrass

MF: Light/medium bodied, subtle carbonation, very dry/pucker. Almost feel my enamel coming off my teeth

Very refreshing, tart, sour. Just got better as it warmed; picked up more citrus

Dark brown, thin head that leaves just a few islands floating on the surface.

Very odd scent. Musty and tart, with a bit of sour milk. Light citrus. It's unappealing.

Thankfully, the tart and citrus are more pronounced in the flavor. Juicy and sour. A hint of dark roasted malt.

Mouthfeel is on the thin side of medium, as is the carbonation.

Overall, very meh. It's hard to get past the strange smells spouting from it.

This was poured into a tulip. The appearance was a dark brown to almost black color with a one finger white to off white foamy head that immediately dissipated. There wasn’t any lacing. The smell started off with a bitter to tart to sour citrus. Peel to pulp-like goodness slides in nicely. Slight roasty coffee tries to show its face, but really stays subtle. The taste rails the bitter/tart/sour citrus and really wants to bring in the roastiness of the coffee, but, ya know, it stays really subtle. There is a mostly sour citrus rind-like aftertaste running into a subtle sticky sour finish. On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a nice sipping quality about it. Carbonation is quite low key on this one, playing up the sour citrus to be the hammer on the palate, is it? Eh, somewhat. Overall, good for what it is, I’d most likely have again.
