beautiful transparent cherry red poured. beautiful.
Aroma of jelly, cherry jelly or jam and tons of sour qualities, usually I don't get a huge nose on most sours, but this is nice.
Tastes jammy again, I love this. Huge cherry poppin goodness, big strong fruit forward flavors, I hesitate to call this tart, its just delicious.
Feel is hardly sour or acidic, more pungent and rich from the cherries.
Overall a really enjoyable beer from Crooked Stave. definitely worth seeking out.

A 375ml bottle, with no bottled on or best before date. Poured into a 3 Fonteinen stemmed glass.

Appearance: A hazy golden orange colour with a one finger white head that had good retention and left lots of nice lacing.

Aroma: Light cherry candy, cherry skin, hay, wood, funk.

Taste: Tart, lightly sour, funk, barnyard, oak, with only very slight hints of cherries.

Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied with moderate to low carbonation.

Overall: There is some fruitiness, but cherry flavours and even in the aroma were definitely lacking.

Hazy amber hued beer with a fingernail of off white around the rim. The aroma is of exceptionally tart cherries. I'm tasting bitterly tart cherries with a bit of lactobacillius. The mouth is very smooth from the oak aging, moderately carbonated, exceptionally crisp, and dry.

12.7 ounce bottle, label says 5.0% ABV, no dating on it that I noticed. Served in a teku, the beer pours a hazy reddish/orange color with about an inch off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both decent enough. The brew smells like tart cherries, funk, wood and bready malt. Taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some bubblegum and earthy flavors. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it's a bit slick and has a good amount of soft carbonation. It's also easy enough to drink. I thought this was good, but I wish this had a little more kick to it (with more fruit and tartness). Still worth a try if you've never had it before. $7.99 a bottle.

Aroma is cherries and big Belgian wild yeast/Brett. The flavor is cherries, fruit, mild thin sweetness, malts, a smaller hint of scotch and a long and tart/very dry finish.

Getting a lot of tart out of this, but not a whole lot of cherry. The cherry flavor is in there if you dig for it. It's not a very obvious incarnation of cherry. Flavor is very deep in there and fights a little bit to come through the sour flavors of this wild ale. Some of the flavors are a little too medicinal. Some of those volitiles never quite settled down. Bubblegum phenol is still there to be found. Still, an enjoyable example of the style. I would happily seek out other examples from this brewery.

12.7oz bottle poured into a Teku
A: Pink, plenty of carbonation but a thin head that disappears quickly
S: Sour cherry, hints of citrus and floral
T: Matches the nose but tastes light, tired and lacks complexity
M: Light-bodied, sour
O: Decent but not great, I can't find a freshness date on the bottle but if this was indeed brewed once in 2015 this bottle is likely past its prime
