A: Poured into a tulip to a deep mahogany topped by a dense two finger light tan head which fades slowly to a collar around the edge of the glass with minimal lacing
S: Smells of sourness, oak, and funk with some really intense blueberry throughout.
T: Taste is really strong sourness and tartness with a good dose of juicy blueberries, light funk and some oak with a little must and chalk. Swallow is more blueberries and slight chalk with lingering oak along with a touch of vanilla.
M: This beer has a moderate amount of body and a slightly slick feel on the palate. Carbonation is effervescent from bottle conditioning but is not prickly while the acidity gives this beer a drying finish.
O: Overall this is a really well made beer with some really nice flavors and complexity. Sourness is good but doesn't overwhelm everything else going on with this beer which makes it a very nice drink. Definitely worth a try if you like the style.

December 2015 bottle.

Beer pours a deep black, one of the blacker beer pours I've seen. Head is almost a whitish color, light, nicely carbonated though. Smells strongly of berries. My nose isn't educated enough to determine whether it's solely blueberry.

Beer tastes strongly of blueberry with a pronounced barrel presence. My only complaint is that the beer is highly acidic - and the finish seems strangely charred. This didn't really mellow as the beer warmed up - it remained an unpleasant aftertaste.

A great beer, though the finish and aftertaste are not pleasant.

2015 bottle. Poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a dark brown to dark purple hued glossing along the sides. Light transparency, ever so slightly. Just a sheet of a semi-foamy to fizzy white foamy head that slid off at a moderate pace. Just a little bit of concave lace bubbled against the sides of the glass nicely.
The aroma had the sweet to tart blueberry fruity/fleshy character up front playing with a little bit of grassy to woody sweet refined quality. Light candy, somewhat like a sourpatch kid, but not as strong warmed up in the entire arrangement.
The flavor started towards the sour side and seemed to bring in the tart and sweet tones of the blueberries with a nice warming blend of the woodiness. Some lemon came out here. Then light acidity in the aftertaste with the blueberries and a little bit of lemon.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Carbonation seemed a bit dead, but having a 2015 bottle in early January of 2018, well, what did I expect. I'm not worried. Rating adjusted accordingly because of this. Nothing cloying. ABV felt pretty close to what was projected by the brewer. Finish was all about the blueberries.
Overall, I tried my best to not be biased in this review, but I have to admit, that I am a huge fan of blueberries. They're one of my favorite fruits. So with this in mind, anyone reading this, please understand that this might be over rated to you. To me, nope, I'd love to die with this in my hand.

On tap @ Covenhoven in BK.

Stout, low-ball glass.

An opaque, leggy, dark brown, edging on red.

Smell is brown ale, edging towards a leafy greens, bitter, mixed berry compote. Faint oak.

Taste is bitter-tart upfront, showing deep tannic blueberry skin about halfway through. Finish is dry, lingering bitter pith & slightly pesticidal(itching my tongue & throat).

Solid sour & additives, if a bit direct.

Olive-ee flavor cold...once warmed oak and blueberry come out. Very tart. Prune appearance. Thin, dry and refreshing. Great sipper although I had a difficult time making it last. Would revisit again.

A: The beer is very dark reddish blueish brown in color. It poured with a thin layer of off white bubbles covering the surface and a collar of moderate-sized bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of sour funk are present in the nose.
T: The beer starts out with flavors of sourness has strong flavors of blueberries.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and somewhat tart on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer does a good job with the blueberries, but it seems like these obscure the underlying brown ale.
