Deep purple. In low light it's basically black. Little head but does have active carbonation.

Aroma is loads of blueberry and vinegar. Brett is apparent.

Whoa. Super acidic and sour. Excellent use of blueberries.

Puckering and punishes the palate like sucking on a handful of SPKs.

Great wild. Definitely one to seek out.

Pours a deep dark purple indicative of the blueberries used. The aroma is tart and funky intermingled with the sweetness and tart of the blueberries it was aged on. The taste is much the same. Tart, sweet, funky with a little bit of booze bite. Delicious.

Sampled at the Beertemple, Amsterdam. Dark ruby-brown with a nice light violet head. Notes of tart dark berries, wild funk, followed by mineral notes, oak and light vanilla. Medium body and carbonation and a tart and refreshing finish.

Poured a super dark brown, I really thought this was a stout with blueberries at first glance. The nose told me otherwise. Huge acid profile pretty much squashed the stout perception and prepped my for the sour onslaught to follow. Very strong initial sour flavor that make way to a very slight berry finish.

Sample at Mikkeller Beer Celebration Copenhagen 2017, yellow session. Aroma is funky with barnyard notes, wood barrel and dark fruits. Taste is tart, acetic, fruity, dry. Finish has a slightly roasty bitterness.

Look: Poured with two fingers pinkish khaki head, color is DARK DARK DARK maroon, no lacing, small amount of medium speed down-up carbonation

Smell: Dark cocoa/bitter chocolate, seeded dark fruit, barnyard funk, vanilla, red wine vinegar

Taste: MUCH less sour than the previous NOB I had. Big punch of lemon juice, baker's chocolate. green apple, vanilla, barrel, balsamic vinegar, sweetened blueberry pie filling

Feel: Thin bodied, delicate mouthfeel, semi-dry finish like a bold red wine

I know it's written on this page it's ''retired'', but I just got chance to drink it on tap in Beertemple.

It looks opaque black with small tan head. No sparkling bubbles.
Aroma is blueberry, barnyard, roasted malt and slight wood.
Taste is amazing! What a complexity! Like a mix of half fruity lambic and half sweet stout. Very delicious fruity and acidic sourness with some wood and roasted bread.
Medium bodied. Soft carbonation. Warm and softly puckering finish.
Very easy to drink despite sourness and high abv. One of the most delicious beers, I really love it.

Look: Pitch black with 2 inch khaki head.
Smell: Tart, Brett, blueberries, and blackberries.
Taste: Very tart, Brett funk, bready, blueberries, and black berries.
Mouthfeel: Full.
Overall: A great sour from Crooked Stave. Not a beginners sour, that's for sure.
