another crooked stave gem, it would be so similar to the other rash of beers they do with a ton of fresh raspberries if it werent for all the hops. they do so many (wonderful) beers with raspberry, and they do all have their differences, but this one really stands out for me. the wild and sour profile is similar to some of their others, more brett and funk that aggressive acidity, plenty of wood, but still very bright. its sort of their signature profile. the hops though, make this really awesome. its not so much bitterness that they add, must be primarily on the dry hop here, but they werent shy with them. almost impossible to tell the varietal(s) used because of the intensity of the raspberry itself and because of everything else going on, and at first sip, im not totally sure i like all these hops in here, seems to interfere with the fruit thats so good in this, but as i keep sipping on it, it grows on me like crazy, with the citrus elements really coming out, some oily properties too, something i have not experienced in any of their beers, even the hop savant stuff. its super hoppy, and its also super raspberry heavy, a pretty neat and uncommon combination, dried out expertly by the wild yeasts. pretty heady stuff, something i almost didnt fully appreciate right away, but the careful drinker will be rewarded with a brew of enormous complexity. brilliantly built!

A: The beer is crystal clear dark pinkish red in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a short white head that has some pinkish hues that left lots of wisps of bubbles on the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of funk are present in the nose along with notes of raspberries and hints of oak.
T: The taste has sour flavors of raspberries along with some notes of oak and hints of funk.
M: It feels light to medium-bodied and very tart on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is quite complex and has a good balance between the sourness and raspberries.

Bright, pink lemon, hints of red fruit, raspberries and lacto. Shorter finish. Sour and a tiny bit funky. Simple grain malt profile. Light bodied. Prickly feel. It's ok. Wish the berry flavors popped a bit more.
