L: poured deep orange with a slightly hazy golden color. very light head that dissipated immediately. minimal carbonation.

S: Sour yeast, and peach. Under notes of the cherry skins. Fresh and bright given those notes.

T: Amazing peachy and cherry notes in a clean bright and fresh sour. Brilliant balance.

F: Fantastic sour pucker up front that releases to a smooth finish. Utterly brilliant. If you have not had great sours, this is an amazing place to start. Lightly balanced, easy to drink, bites and releases. Peach is forward but secondary to the fact that it is a great beer.

O:. A total favorite. Crooked Stave is a general home run, but this one is a grand slam blasted out of the park.

A: Poured into a tulip glass to a deep golden orange topped by a small white head which fades quickly leaving no lacing
S: Smells of juicy peaches, some slight oak, nice sourness and a hint of funk.
T: Taste is huge juicy peaches up front with some clean sourness. Nice amount of funk, barnyard and horseblanket with a little oak. Swallow is more juicy peaches, a little cherry, more clean sourness, lingering oak and a hint of funk.
M: This beer has a meduim body with lightly effervescent carbonation which is adequate for the style. The beer also has a drying finish
O: Overall this is a really nice fruited sour. Great bright fruit notes with some nice complexity and supporting flavors. Really nice but a bit on the expensive side. I feel that it's worth the cost of entry though and is worth a try for anybody that likes fruited sours.

If variety is the spice of life, then the brewers at Crooked Stave finds such spice in a barrel, with bugs and orchard fruit. Their reserve saison series lands at the roots of the peach tree for a sour taste with a special acidic zing.

Surette Reserva Palisade Peach pours comes with a champagne effervescence that cuts through a foggy golden matte appearance. Tainted with a glimmer of peach coloration, the ale soon sits in the glass still but with an abundance of earthen perfume. Musty peaches hinge on stone fruit along with a spicy tingle of white wine, citrus, cider and an overall aura of the sea. Scant sweetness grazes the tongue with a light candy and dough character.

But the ale quickly does away with sweetness and prefers a sour, spicy and rustic charm. Sour peaches bring a dry and winey taste to the middle palate, decorated with light apricot, mango and cranberry. As the fruit additions settle, the beer's natural acidity brings a finish of crabapple, gooseberry, lime and sake-like spice. Light mustiness of cork, leather and weathered oak trail into a spicy, earthy and modestly funky after palate.

Clean, crisp and highly refreshing, the beer's supreme acidity is puckering and nearly jaw-locking. As gentle wafts of peach return in brief echoes, the ale has a quick aftertaste and a palate stripped of all thirst. It's a perfect warm weather refresher of an ale.

Pours a highly carbonated and clear orange amber. Really the feel is light and airy, matching the smell's usage of the peach, yeast, flowers, cherry and dried fruit. Taste is the star, great sour peach without getting medicinal, belgian yeasts with slight funk, great dried read fruits, some sour wheat, and some drier oak. Smooth despite the carbonation, and has a full medium body

really killer stuff, i liked it better than either of the other two large format surette reserva beers they have done so far, and by quite a lot. this is one of the most peach forward beers i have ever had that still tastes natural like real fruit, its sensational stuff, currently on tap at the source. its dense orange in color, almost pinkish or red even in the glass, looks like juice not beer, save for a small ring of airy white bubbles on the top, this is really dense looking, incredibly peachy! the aroma makes my mouth water like crazy, fuzzy juicy yellow peaches to the max, tons and tons of them, in a concentration i have never known in a beer. still the same great base beer too, mature bretty, lightly sour in the nose, some citrus accents, plenty of oak, mature and patient stuff, but this is all about the peaches. the flavor too is super peach driven of course, juicy and pulped up, like straight peach puree almost, peak of ripeness to, so summery, so natural, not forced at all, and oddly enough, not very sweet! the peaches just explode through the base beer, making it something else entirely, tartness from the wild yeasts blends so well with skins of the peaches, and there is a pucker here but no vinegar or harsh acidity at all. incredible use of the fruit here, best i have seen, and i like how there is so much of it that the beer is almost thick in feel. it is a little under carbonated, but the flavors are so awesome i dont really mind. perhaps crooked staves best beer of the year so far, really next level stuff!!!
