6.2%. Aged in Oak Barrels. 750ml brown glass bottle with standard pressure cap served into a Guinness pint glass in me gaff in low altitude Los Angeles, California. Reviewed live. Expectations are below average given the brewery.

Served straight from the refrigerator and allowed to warm over the course of consumption. Side-poured with standard vigor as no carbonation issues are anticipated.

A: Pours a half finger beige-khaki colour head of fair cream and thickness, but awful retention. Colour is a hazy pale yellow. Nontransparent. No yeast particles are visible. No bubble show.

Sm: Heavy bretts, stale orange peel, and clean malts. There's barely a hint of oak. A mild strength aroma.

T: Orange peel, heavy bretts/yeast, and heavy lactose in the third act and finish. The climax is lactic as hell as well. It's pretty simple, lacking subtlety, depth, and complexity. What's there isn't bad, but it does offer pretty little for the style. I like it in a general sense, but it's far from unique or special. Structurally imbalanced - the third act has all the flavour. Imbalanced in terms of the actual diversity of flavour. No alcohol comes through.

Mf: Smooth and wet. Somewhat crisp. Nectary. Good thickness. Ideal carbonation. The mouthfeel is a highlight of the beer.

Dr: Drinkable but far from impressive within the style. Still, I do like it for what it is. Its simplicity certainly holds it back. I wouldn't get it again. Quite pricey for the lack of quality.

CS's Surette aged in oak barrels.

Pours a burnt orange with a 1/2 thumbs width white, effervescent head. An aroma oftart grapes and apples, some mild funkiness and just a slight hint of the oak. Flavor is a nice tart apple and grape in the get go with some funkiness, then the oak comes in at the close it and the finish is a pairing of tart and woodiness. The finish really makes this beer. A crisp, thin and creamy mouthfeel. Overall, an alright brew. Enjoyable enough to drink, not close to being worth the cost, IMO.
