375 mL bottle poured into a snifter.
Appearance - Deep reddish brown. I can count the number of bubbles on one hand. Dismally dead looking.
Smell - Tons of caramel, some fruits. Dark fruits with an acidity to the nose.
Taste - Sharp acidity covers up a lot of the quad. Still a fair amount of caramel. Sharp clean sourness. Fruity.
Mouthfeel - Low carbonation. Medium heavy body.
Overall - Not sold on this. The sourness doesn't add to it. Just makes me wonder if it was a quality base quad.

Traded for this a long time ago when it first came out.
A - Poured into my Duvel tulip a murky garnet hue with no head at all. Decent legs but other than that it's still.
S - Aromas of funk, sour cherries, light bourbon, little oak, complex. Deep inhales though bring up something a little medicinal.
T - Taste is very vinous, tart, tangy cherries, funky, vinegar. Not quite puckering, decent barrel notes, oak, faint faint bourbon. Almost flanders like in the sourness and darkness going on here. No alcohol.
M - Mouthfeel is very lowly carbonated, a bit heavy/syrupy. Not flemmy though and the ABV is hidden nicely
O - Overall this beer was unfortunately rather confusing. With more carbonated perhaps the flavour and aroma would pop some more than it did. Kind of boring on the taste...one note tart cherries and barrel sweetness. Quite unfortunate.
