Did a trade for this a long time ago...poured into my Duvel tulip.

A - Pours a nice clear golden hue with a quarter inch head that fades pretty quickly in to a wispy cloud and light side lacing.

S - Like someone else stated, this smells like a tart sauv blanc, light oak, floral notes, lemons, maybe a faint flash of honey. Quite vinous.

T - Taste is very, very tart lemony white wine here. Very fruity. Flashes of vanilla thanks to the oak barrel, very nice wild ale must / funkiness towards the end. This is similar to The Bruery's Confession, however, done much much better. The finish though is not quite enamel peeling sour, but its quite close.

M - Mouthfeel is quite tart, lowly carbonated. Alcohol is hidden nicely though.

O - Overall, this is a very well executed wild ale. Quite tasty, glad to have tried it.

Bottle received as a gift from NJOssie I believe. Os your a great BA!!!

Appearance: Pours a cloudy hazed straw with a BARELY tawny pale orange hue to it. Crown is 1 finger, white, shows moderate retention, and some lace.

Smell: The faintest hint of bandaid (at a level that is a plus) with some mustiness and tropical fruit from the wild yeast. Light lemon zest really ties it together.

Taste: Same as the nose with a perfect level of acid. A touch of tannin from the french oak, but not much flavor contribution from it IMHO.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with low carbonation. Very nice for the style.

Overall: A pretty fantastic wild ale. Crooked Stave continues to impress me.
