12.7 oz bottle, poured into a tulip glass at approximately 45 degrees F.
A: Pours a dark, hazy gold, the color of honey left sitting at room temperature until it crystallizes solid. Forms a relatively thin white head, which dies to a cap and ring fairly quickly. Patchy lacing clings to the glass in the wake of the beer.
S: The aroma opens with fresh wheat, grass, and honey, before hints of light fruit waft in - melon and pear. There's a faint mustiness present as well, though no wood character.
T: Tart and sour, this beer bites at the tongue on the opening and doesn't relent until well after the swallow. Citrus and melon flavors roll through the sharpness, above a wheaten plain, before yielding way to a funk that seems not unlike mildewed oak and grass just before the finish. Said finish is quite dry, possibly the driest I've experienced from a beer. There's a distinct coppery metallic tang in the aftertaste, as if the flavor tartness were sharp enough to draw blood from the tongue.
M: Sharp and light, with bite from both the flavors and the carbonation. This seems like a light, drinkable beer, but trying to quaff it quickly would bring tears to the eyes.
O: An excellent saison, delivering a complex flavor profile with a strong sour bite that seems less reliant on hops and more on yeast. Will repeat.

375 ml bottle
Served in a tulip glass
2013 Batch 8
It pours a brilliant amber hue with golden highlights. It is topped with an inch of tan head that leaves decent lacing.
It smells sour, not over-the-top sour, but decently sour. I get some stonefruit and a little funk.
It is sour. I get green apple and a little funk. Sour throughout.
Medium bodied with a dry mouthfeel
Ten years didn't seem to hurt in any. Nice sour saison.

375 ml bottle, as Crooked Stave Surette Provision Saison Artisan Ale Aged in Oak Barrels, 2014 batch 13. ABV is 6.2%. At Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Slightly hazy golden colour, low white head of poor retention. Sourish aroma, strong notes of farmhouse, lemons, white wine vinegar and oak. Very sour and lemony flavour, medium dry, nearly like an unblended lambic, some oaky notes. Not a saison by any stretch of the mind.

L: page honey/wheat with a thin white bread that quickly dissolves into a ring
S: mild lemony citrus with some grape, apple, and bread
T: tart lemon, sour apple, not quite ripe grapes, yeasty funkiness, and oak
F: tart and tingly and dry across the tongue
O: wow, slightly astringent, a little tart, something like a very dry white wine. The oak barrel gives it more body and some tannin, but I would really like to try an unaged version. Overall an excellent farmhouse saison

375ml bottle, cellared for the past 4 years. 2014 date, batch 16.
Vinous white nose with a lot of tropical fruit. Mild but even funk layer. Oaky vanillins. Taste more or less follows suit. Underlying sweet and toasty malt mingles with an easy toffee, toast, and vanilla oak character. Light and even funk layer. Mild tartness. White wine. Peach zest. Medium bodied with some malty firmness and gentle carbonation. Great.

One of the 14 beers we have had in one session of some bad-ass tasting brew.
A bit of funk and lactic acidity for this fruity season. Frank and well crafted
