Batch 2, Centennial & Simcoe

Pours a hazy golden straw color, which is lighter at the bottom and more golden at the top. The egg shell colored head is huge and pillowy, almost meringue like.

The aroma is tart and oaky. Big lemon twang. White grapes with a subtle hint of vinegar. There is some pepper and general spice.

The taste is tart and oaky as well. Again, big lemon and white grape flavor. Slightly grassy with a mix of pepper. Not much from the malt, slight bready flavor.

The feel is light and bright with airy carbonation. Sweet and tart on the palate. Good balance and drinks very easy.

A nice tart pale ale. The hops don't really pop but the oak sure does. Worth a purchase.

Batch 3, 2013 Simcoe and Centennial Hops
Bitter and sour do not belong together.
Looks: pale, not much head, dies quickly. bottle frothed over when opened
smell: deliciously fruity, from both yeast and hops. additional hop dankness. Slight medicinal funk
taste: Bitter and sour and medicinal. couldn't finish bottle.
Overall: I love Crooked Stave and will definitely buy them again, Surette and St Bretta are both amazing beers but i didnt enjoy this one and dont feel it was worth $10
