Had been waiting to see this one tapped.
Pours a nice dark burgundy/copper. Large head at first, but it fell to a collar. Quick swirl brings it up again. Slick lacing
Sourness on the nose. Cherry and apple. Hints of sweet caramel, but not much. Faint fig and earthy spice, but not really spice. Y'know? Wood and hint of dry pine
More of a tart feel to it. Some may say sour, but I stop short of that. Apple skin, plum skin, maybe some grape tannin. Light yet rich caramel. Dodgy earth spices. Slightly bready. Became more complex as it warmed bringing out leather and toasted marshmallow. Tartness faded...or I got used to it.

On tap for Beachwood Sour Fest at Beachwood BBQ in Seal Beach, CA.
Pours a hazy orange-brown with a foamy tan head that fades to nothing. No lacing on the drink down. Smell is sour and tart with malt, vinegar, acidic, and slight wood aromas. Taste is much the same with sour fruit and wood flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of acidity on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a very good beer that is tasty and easy to drink but I am not getting any distinct whiskey barrel presence other than some wood.
