look: 3.75 | smell: 4 | taste: 4 | feel: 4.25 | overall: 4

Fall, 2013, Batch 4. Poured a hazy golden yellow, with a light head of foam that dissipated to a thin film, only patchy lacing. Nose is definitely Brett up front, with some tart, sour orange, wheat and wood. The taste is tart orangey, grape fruity citrus up front, with some bretty funk, wheat and some slight woody flavors. As it warmed, the tartness ebbed a bit while the oak flavors began to be more prominent. The mouthfeel felt a bit light and prickly from the carbonation at first, but as it hit the back of my palate, it was almost creamy like a nitro beer. This was certainly a very good beer, Crooked Stave never fails to deliver, especially on their Brett beers.

Pour is a pale yellow with a white head. Nose is pronounced brett, egg and cob webb, light lemon. Taste has some tartness to it, lighter body with a strong carbonation and fairly dry finish. Brett isn't quite as pronounced, sweeter. Juicy lemon, dusty brett through the finish.

2013 batch 4
Enjoyed from a 2012 cellar reserve oversized wine glass

Brew pours a lush murky tangerine orange with a thin cap of frothy head that dissolved quic leaving spotty lace. Nose is crisp sweet tart wheat. Oranges and tropical fruitiness tickle over the top. Real nice. Not as sweet in the taste as the Brett is more dominant here making the beer more sour than wheat. Still has a soft orangey flavor over wheat. Very drinkable in the summer...wish I tried it a bit fresher in the fall. Another fine brew from crooked stave.
