Vibe is laid back, they let you bring in food which is cool. Bartenders were friendly and knowledgeable. Selection is insane; ton of bottles. Pricey but a real good time; you can basically get any CS beer you desire there.

Tucked into a multi-purpose building with bars, restaurants, the brewery and a butcher shop. Artishy interior with awesome bartenders and a huge selection.

Not your typical microbrewery setting but well worth the trip. Friends not into craft beer will feel comfortable here.

(#40 of 49) We walked here from Great Divide's taproom to try out their beers. The pub is located inside an old rehabbed brick building called The Source, and several other businesses are situated off a common food court area. A small parking lot is at the front, and I noticed a sign on the adjacent parking garage that there is free parking for customers of The Source businesses.

Crooked Stave specializes in artisan barrel-aged beers that include sours/wild ales, although there were a few non-sour beers available too. There were 22 beers available on tap, but we ordered only 4 of them on a sampler flight. (Bottles of their beers are also available, including some vintage selections.) We are still neophytes when it comes to sour beers as the main reason that we selected only 4 beers, but we asked the bartender to recommend ones that ran the full gamut of the sourness scale. We really likes all of them, and surprisingly the most sour of them, the Nightmare on Brett, was the one that we liked best. Not being an 'expert' on rating these beers 'to style' we just rated them on how well we liked them. We ended giving them an overall rating of a B-plus grade.

There are bottles, howlers and growlers to go of these beers. If the styles of beers that are brewed here are to your liking, this is the place to be. As inexperienced as we are at drinking beers like these, we decided that we'd visit here again to try many of their other beers. This is a must-visit brewpub.

The place is in an interesting locale. It's in a pseudo-industrial modern marketplace. I kind of dug it, but it was a tad confusing (the construction wasn't helpful). When we were there, it was pretty slow, but I could see how the place could get hopping for special events. I could see it getting crowded and maybe cramped at busy times, as well, though.

The beers are very good, execution seems pretty much on point in the beers I've tried. I could use a little more tart and/or fruit presence in a few beers, but that probably indicates more about me than the quality of the brews. But on my side is that this brewer is focused on a smaller subset of styles, making the selection fairly limited (to saison/farmhouse and sours). I will say, though, they had a few one-offs that were out of those options (which I did not try, unfortunately), which is to be applauded.

I was a bit off when we visited, but I am looking forward to visiting again. Almost everything about this place said to me, "come back" if I were in the mood for saisons/sours. And I know I will be again at some point when I am next in Denver.

Visited here at opening on a Wednesday with my wife (sour lover) and kids. We tasted everything they had on tap and my wife bought a little swag to wear home.

It's in an interesting faux-industrial building and it seems they're obligated to comply with the vibe. They don't do any brewing there that I know of. Server was friendly and prompt.

Beers are good (if you like sours). Good selection of their styles of beer (19 taps, I think). I liked that they started making some standard beers (an IPA, a porter, and maybe an English IPA), which were well made.

Great selection of taps and bottles, to-go bottles were a plus as well. A pretty cool place in the market. It's not a place I could spend a few hours at though. Maybe a beer or two and move on.

Located in the Source, which is critical to know if you're trying to find it. Cool space. Friendly staff. The beers are the real draw though. Amazing stuff. Superior quality. Bring your disposal income because this is a great place to spend it.

Crooked Stave is a very short drive from downtown Denver. It shares a location with several other businesses at "The Source" (really a cool place to hang out).

Crooked Stave's portion has mainly bar stool seating along with some tables. The beer is really great (mainly sours but they had an IPA option when I was there). You can get taster portions or full pours and they also had a vast bottle selection of reasonably priced sours.

The service is great and the vibe is very laid back.

This is a must visit place if you happen to be in Denver.
