Is having a non-alcoholic beer with lunch more problematic or less problematic than having a regular beer with lunch?
Eh...
Anyhow, I'm a huge fan of Weihenstephan, one of the few remaining breweries on earth with any shred of integrity. If anyone's gonna make a truly great NA beer in a classic style, it's them.
And, well, okay this isn't *great*, but it's quite good. Golden pour, slight haze, bright white and retentive head.
Aroma contains firm nodes of bananas, coriander, and black pepper, but it's not as lush or well-rounded as their fantastic hefe. Still very pleasant, though. Scratches the itch.
Flavor is more robust than the aroma, at least up front. Fruity nodes dominate, moving into a nice bready yeast profile, but, sadly, the absence of alcohol is noticeable on the back end. The finish is surprisingly hoppy, though.

From a bottle:
A bit of smoke upon opening the bottle. This is a very clear pouring beer, clear golden color. The head is quite thick - 3 finger, and white. The head looks quite fluffy and frothy. The head retention is decent and there's some lacing on the glass. As I hold this beer up to the light, I see a ton of carbonation bubbles rising in the glass.
The aroma is very grainy, I also get a pleasing hint of lemon.
Taste - This is a very malty beer, well, N/A beer. I get tons of grain flavors - biscuit, wafer. I get a bit of lemon that shines through. I also get some honey on the backside.
The body is very light, though, somewhat expected. Not really watery.
Delicious and refreshing. Highly recommended NA beer.

12oz bottle into a pint glass. Dating not clear.
Looks nice enough in the glass. Hazy honey yellow body with a good foamy white head leaving scattered lacing.
Decent aroma of yeast and wheat.
On tasting, it's very thin and watery. The wheat aspect is a little sour.
Mouth between thin and medium, finish watery.
Overall, had hoped Weihenstephaner NA would be a very good one. Disappointed.

Tall, thick, white and creamy-looking head with excellent retention. Good carbonation. Hazy, slightly dark amber. Lacing is good.
Smells mostly of cooked grain, with a very slight hint of other aromas, perhaps banana and spices if I imagine it to be. The aroma is quite nice and inviting; it's just not what I'd expect from a hefeweizen.
The taste is somewhat minerally, grainy, with some of the typical hefe flavors faintly well in the background. I can pick up the wheat. I do get some spice and, as with the aroma, hints of banana, but again, faint enough that it seems more subliminal than real. The predominant flavors are cooked grain with a mineral tanginess. No bittering at all. The mineral tang remains into the finish and the aftertaste. The finish is semi-dry. Overall, not unlikeable, but also, not a hefeweizen (or one that would be ranked low to style if tasted blind in a hefe tasting).
The body is thin, but that is expected. Nicely carbonated.
Overall, the NA is no hefe, but it's also enjoyable in its own right (but the minerality does start to become tiring as the beer warms, but to counterbalance, so does the faintly banana start to assert - but only just).

Dry January sucks.
Trying out every AF beer available close to me and this is easily the best. The only one I could pour in a glass and serve a buddy and he wouldn't know something was up.
Good Weiss beer. Bananas and cloves, lacing, nice head, solid mouth feel.
The last two weeks of this won't be as rough as the first two.

Poured from 330mL bottle into a dimpled mug. As others have noted, the bottles don't seem to indicate either the "original" or "hefeweissbier" that the two entries on here have. But what's in this bottle is definitely a hefeweizen.
Appearance: medium golden hue with a light-to-moderate haze and a thick finger of frothy eggshell foam. The foam doesn't have a ton of retention but overall it looks pretty good.
Smell: there's a hint of skunk to this, despite the brown bottle, but after that goes away there's an intriguingly malty aroma with lots of pear quality, something I love in Belgian pales and tripels. Whatever is going on here, I love it, and I'm willing to overlook the momentary skunk.
Taste: there's definitely a wheaty maltiness going on here, with a dash of bitter toward the end. There's a bit of banana and clove to go with a hint of the pear from the aroma. The finish is a bit bland, but overall, quite good.
Mouthfeel: light body but with a smooth texture and a good carbonation. Not bad for NA.
Overall: this is without question the best non-hoppy NA beer I have had. For the style, excellent, and I think I might just want to start having this around in general.

Clouded, bright golden, large ivory head. Looking just like a true Bavarian wheat, so far.
In the nose: citrus and spice, notes of banana and wheat.
In the mouth: All of the flavors are here, and nearly none of the alcohol. Light-bodied, fruity, slight spice, malty. If I couldn't have any booze, I sure wouldn't pass this up. Not terrible at all.

500 ml bottle, bought in Sweden. ABV is 0.5%. Golden colour, slightly hazy, huge white head. The aroma has some hefeweizen notes of banana and cloves, but also hints of the more typical n/a beer notes like over-boiled vegetables and baby porridge. Not quite as bad as many other n/a beers, though. The mouthfeel is thin, as expected. The bland flavour has some weak notes of citrus and wheat malts, hardly any noticeable hops. * Sampled multiple times on a later dates, and I think the quality has improved a little.

Looks a hazy orange-brown with a half finger head and a bit of residue. Has some rocky bubbles and a decent head retention.
Aroma has a strong barley tea smell to it with meaty and musty notes. Smells of wet cardboard and strangely.. tangy barbecue sauce? Smells pretty much like garbage, not gonna lie...
...Tastes like garbage too. It's strangely a bit sour, with notes of acorns, honey, barley tea, and heavily tasting of stale corn.
It's pretty light bodied, it's crisp--but watery with little to no carbonation. Nothing really going for it here.
TLDR; Never again. I won't. You can't make me. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemies.

500ml bottle, best before 26/09/2020. Poured into a weihenstephan stein glass.
Look: Hazy golden colour, with about 1.5-2 inches of foamy white head that sticks around for ages. Looks great.
Smell: Banana lolly and clove are at the forefront. Not getting a whole lot else, though perhaps a little bit of maltiness. Smells very much like i expect a German wheat beer to smell.
Taste: I'm not getting the flavours coming through in the taste as much as they did on the nose. Theres a bit of clove, the banana yeastiness is there, but towards the end. There was a little bit of saltiness that reminded me of soda water which i found a little unpleasant.
Feel: A little lighter than I had expected, though a nice tingly carbonation. Not much bitterness.
Overall: It's pretty good for what it is.

(330 ml bottle, 'Non-Alcoholic Malt Beverage', style not indicated, code 1219; purchased cold single... poured into 14 oz mug)
L: clear amber liquid at first until sediment cast a moderate-turbid haze; sediment ring left in bottom of bottle... tight, silky-creamy foam, long retention - looks like a mighty fine wheat beer!
S: rather bready - crumb and crust, as well as yeast barm; 'standard' overall N/A aromas (alcohol missing)?... bit of that wheat 'tart' I've read about?
T: hefeweizen-light? - malt richness and alcohol deprived, as if it has no foundation... again that 'tart' (or 'tang') in the finish, with a character vaguely like paper bag or burlap; lightly-spicy, grassy grain... the yeast in the aftertaste is more dry and nutty than doughy or bready
F: a bit more rigid and cut in its form and flow than a standard weizen, with the finish more clipped... missing much of the creamy drag of a yeasty hefe, but its dryness makes for easy drinking
O: a welcome deviation within the N/A sector, and from one of my favorite breweries, no less... undeniably flavorful, but as opposed to pils/lager N/As, the missing elements seem more glaringly apparent... takes a bit of getting used to, but not bad (1561)
