Style: Weizenbock

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 7.70%

Availability: Winter

Notes / Commercial Description:
Our light-coloured, spicy single-bock, “Vitus” is saturated with fine yeast and a creamy foam. It is a specialty with a round character based on the extra long storage time. The fruity smell of dried apricots joins aromas of citrus, cloves and hints of banana. Full-bodied and sparkling with an effervescent mouthfeel. Thus, the Vitus does not taste like a typical Bock beer but more like a noble, fruity wheat beer. Perfect with red meat, strong cheese and also able to guide desserts. Brewed according to our centuries-old brewing tradition on the Weihenstephan hill.

I had been wanting to try this for a long time and today I finally picked up a bottle. I was expecting a great beer and my expectations were met and exceeded.

Pours hazy gold color with a clean white head that hangs around for a long time and leaves lacing on the glass.

Smells-Bananas and clove.

Tastes-Similar to the smell. Fantastic balance of sweetness and spice. Banana/bubblegum tastes up front. Some floral notes but this is for the most part a sweet beer.

Mouthfeel-Decent carbonation with a dry finish.

Overall- Another phenomenal beer from one of my favorite breweries. Must try.

ONE PINT 0.9 FL.OZ. bottle
Served in a weizen glass

A - The first thing I notice is that this is the lightest weizenbock that I have seen. It is a hazy yellow with a massive, fluffy white head.

S - I noticed some banana as I poured it. One poured I put my nose to the glass and got some spicy, fruity notes.

T - The taste is spicy, but I don't get any of the fruit. I get a little of the malt.

M - Medium with prickly carbonation.

O - It is an excellent beer. Nothing could beat Aventinus, but this is a quality, cheaper substitute.

This is without a doubt the greatest bargain in the beer world. An absolutely stunningly looking beer and everything else about this beer is perfect. In the summer after a hot day
there is nothing more refreshing on this great Earth of ours that is better to drink than
Vitus.Just fantastic stuff but be careful this beer is much to easy to drink with a high ABV-7.7%.I like this better than Aventinus but obviously you can't go wrong with either one.

A: Straw yellow with a huge white head.

S: Coriander, clove and banana hit the nostrils all at once. Very spicy. Wheat begins to creep in with slight bread, lemon and citrus. Very spicy.

T: An overdose of banana immediately comes through along with wheat. tart citrus in the middle and finish with spice and clove and cinnamon interplaying with all these flavors.

M: Crisp and clean with a quick finish. Perfectly carbonated.

O: Relaxing. Very refreshing and easy drinking with a deceptive flavors! Delicious. /90

1 pt .9 fl oz Bomber poured into tulip glass.

Pours a hazy bright golden yellow, with a very thick creamy white head. Has the look of a great wheat ale. Lots of banana, coriander, and bubble gum in the nose. I'm also getting some faint clove. Very nice smelling wheat. Taste is killer, huge flavorful wheat thats just dry enough but not overly so. Clean and crisp, alcohol is a little noticeably but that entirely fine with me. This brewery has it down pat, they've had enough time and time pays off.
