Notes / Commercial Description:
Our golden-yellow wheat beer, with its fine-poured white foam, smells of cloves and impresses consumers with its refreshing banana flavour. It is full bodied and with a smooth yeast taste. To be enjoyed at any time, goes excellently with fish and seafood, with spicy cheese and especially with the traditional Bavarian veal sausage. Appearance: Giant, white head that's foamy on the bottom and thick and creamy on the top. The color is a medium yellow, and the clarity is hazy.

Smell: Puréed banana bread, apricot and tangerine esters. Clove-like scent is more prominent upon warming, as is a smattering of peppery and floral spices.

Taste: Bready malt, with the slightest tang from citrus esters. Banana and bubblegum flavors are more present in the aftertaste. Less focused on esters and spices than other Hefeweizens. The flavor is more malty and subdued, which I enjoy because it actually adds a layer of complexity by pairing yeasty flavors with malty ones.

Mouthfeel: Medium body, with fair carbonation. The wheat makes the body feel slightly heavier, but there is also a silky quality to the mouthfeel that makes things more smooth and sessionable.

Overall: A more balanced, malt-forward Hefeweizen, which creates, for me, somehow both a rounder and more complex flavor profile. An enjoyable example of a traditional German wheat beer that encompasses both creativity and tradition.

Hefeweissbier pours a golden color, with a large frothy massive lacing head. The aroma has a lot of cloves and banana notes, a little ester. The taste has a great creamy crisp wheat backbone, with cloves and banana notes, with a nice mellow ester flavor. Very drinkable, very full flavor, perfect carbonation. Overall, WOW.

Poured into a weizen glass.

Appearance: pours a murky yellow gold with hints of orange. Bubbling from the bottom is beautiful. Strong, white head, with minimal lacing.

Smell: Wheat, yeast, sourdough bread, caramel, champagne. Hits powerfully, though not hard, but very deep. Considering the "weakness" of the flavors, that's quite good.

Taste: Wheat, malt, maybe a touch of banana. Well done, but there's not too much here, and it's not too interesting.

Mouthfeel: Really smooth, with just a tough of bite from the carbonation.

Overall: A disappointment. A very pretty beer. Smells great. Feels great. Tastes good, but less than I expected. Still, if I wanted good hefeweizen, I'll acknowledge that I've had none better. I think hefeweizen is just not my thing.
