Bottle off the campus of UVA with some architecture grad students and my beautiful bride & unborn bambino.

Pours like a liquid orange. Appears as such, for sure. Intricate lacing on the head. Now to the real draw. I may just as well have a mouth full of caramel. Richness and depth rules the day. I profess being impressed at a beer I hesitate to swallow, o but I do. Citrus, the richest, creamiest citrus in all the land. King among wheats.

330 mL bottle poured into a Weihenstephaner weizen glass. Bottled on July 17, 2013.

Appearance: Pours a very hazy straw color. Carbonation streams aggressively up the glass. Pour results in a four finger, creamy white head which becomes rocky as it settles. Excellent head retention and lacing. Very good looking hefeweizen.

Smell: Big ripe banana aroma immediately hits the nose. This is followed by a sweet, bubblegum note and finishes with an earthy, spicy character (very clove like).

Taste: A lot of the wheat character hits at first, gradually taking on the fruity, banana notes. Similar to the nose, this picks up a slight bubblegum sweetness before finishing strongly with earthy, clove taste.

Mouthfeel: Medium body to this as it travels through the mouth. The carbonation is evident as it scrubs over the tongue, cleansing the palate very nicely. Finishes with an inviting, warmth from the spice. Sticky, but smooth, and very easy to drink and refreshing.

Overall: This is an excellent example of a wheat beer. Readily available at reasonably priced ($10.99 in my area for a 6 pack), but at times can be difficult to find fresh. A classic and absolutely worth a try.
